"We listed our home in Middletown NY with Christina/Tina. We were extremely excited to list, sell and move south. In the beginning things went very well. Tina was responsive to our needs and questions. Layla (Tina’s boss) came to our house 1 time and that was the one and only time we heard from Layla. We asked to have a quick easy closing and we were assured that would happen. Tina knew we were buying a home down south and needed to close in NY in order to close down south. Tina wanted us to accept an offer that was a VA loan, we questioned her about the quickness and ease of VA loans and she assured us there would be no issues. Well fast forward, we almost lost our house in SC because of the lack of communication, lack of of effectiveness and quickness we were promised. We had a closing date of May 24th in NY, I asked Tina numerous times if this date was firm. Tina’s response was a resounding YES every time I asked her. We did not close until June 18th in NY. Once May 24th came and went Tina decided to tell us that the May 24th date is “approximate” not a definite date. We wound up paying an additional $5000 to the sellers in South Carolina to not terminate our contract. Tina chose to not acknowledge my cries for help, ignored my texts and refused to reach out to the buyers lender, agent and lawyer to see what the hold up was. My agent in South Carolina had more communication with the NY lenders, agents and lawyers than Tina did. Tina did not want to upset the apple cart however, she could have cared less about what was happening with us. It was evident that once Tina had the “sale” the “commission” we were no longer her priority. With this being said, make sure you do your research, ask the questions, get it in writing. Don’t believe everything they are feeding you. They will say what they think you want to hear. I used Tina because I went to school with her and thought “let me give the money to someone I know.” Word of advice… don’t hire people you know."
