The Toll Family Playground, located in Central Park West, New York, is a vibrant and beautiful playground that was rebuilt in 2016 by the Central Park Conservancy. This playground offers a dynamic experience for young children with open spaces for games and running around, as well as a variety of play equipment including accessible surfaces, water features, sand areas, sand tables, and adaptive swings.
The playground features two small playhouses inspired by structures popular in the 1930s, and is situated at the base of Summit Rock, the highest natural point in the Park. Nearby, you will find two other playgrounds – Abraham and Joseph Spector Playground, and Pinetum Playground.
Central Park has a total of 21 unique playgrounds, each designed with different characteristics. The Conservancy regularly updates these spaces to include new equipment and infrastructure that reflect changing ideas about children’s play, safety, and accessibility standards. "Great but I call this the messy playground. Good for cooling off (splash pad) or lots of sand time. There is a water faucet IN the sandbox and kids are constantly running it. I only go if there’s a bath afterwards or it’s winter and those two things aren’t an issue."

"Update: saw more than a fair share of rats on this playground. Minus 2 stars. Original four star review follows: Very cool, different playground for kids all ages. The place is fairly large, but it does not have the typical playground games. It has some swings, a sandbox, a climbing structure and sprinklers, but it also has several seesaws, two 'houses' with walls kids can paint and some other structures. There are no restrooms here nor nearby. There is no soft ground, and the place seems due for an upgrade, but it is a very cool option."
"One of the best playgrounds in Central Park. Updated in 2016 this well laid out play area features an array of equipment that will keep your little ones entertained for longer than the average playground. Sandbox, sprinklers, two slides, seesaws, 12 swings (all for toddlers) and two gazebos with chalkboard sides. A continuous fence with only one entry/exit point and ample seating with clear sight lines means your little ones won't be able to scamper away. This is a clear winner over nearby Diana Ross Playground. It is a great option after visiting the American Museum of Natural History. You can enter from 85th or 81st and climb the path over Summit Rock."
