Van Cortlandt Manor

Van Cortlandt Manor, located at 525 South Riverside Avenue in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, is a museum and popular tourist attraction. Currently closed for essential infrastructure improvements, the historic site is undergoing renovations to ensure the safety, access, comfort, and enjoyment of visitors. These improvements include the installation of sidewalks connecting to the nearby Metro-North railroad station, bicycle racks, and electric car charging stations, as well as upgrades to pathways for universal access and electric and data systems.

Van Cortlandt Manor is known for hosting The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, a highly anticipated event that attracts visitors from across the Lower Hudson Valley. The site also offers educational programs for tourists and schoolchildren, allowing them to explore life in the “New Nation” period following the Revolutionary War.

Visitors are welcome to take photographs and videos for personal use on the grounds, but photography inside the house is not permitted. Group tours of 10 or more people are also available by reservation. Commercial shoots are rarely permitted, with priority given to well-funded productions that minimize disruption to visitors, staff, and historic sites.
