Orchards of Concklin

"Sold us moldy Foccacia bread (funnily the cashier woman fervently said “oh you need that” and convinced us to buy it) - we didn’t notice the mold until we got home. Also so very very disappointed by the apple pie and pumpkin pie. We drove 3 hours to this orchard and the pies were mediocre at best. The apple pie was tasteless and apples inside were bland and formless. The pumpkin pie crust was raw, disgusting. DO NOT SPEND YOUR DOLLAR ON THEIR PIES! The orchard itself was phenomenal, but we wish the baked goods we bought were better."

"Large bag for $60 up to 4 peoples, medium for $33 up to 2 people, & small for $16 up to 1 person. Apples are sweet. Well maintained orchard. Recommended!^^"

"Second time at this orchard and we enjoyed ourselves. The apples were absolutely delicious. It is such a beautiful and scenic place. I purchased the infamous apple cider donuts, apple butter and apple cider to take home. We all had so fun spending time together at Orchards of Concklin."

"First time Apple picking here even though I've lived in Rockland forever! We went today around 3pm, and it was very pleasant! Not crowded or overstimulating with carnival activities like in some orchards in the Hudson Valley. The orchard has a good variety of apples and they were in nice neat rows, however while most rows were labeled, not all were clear. We came specifically for Pink Ladies (per the calendar on their website) and while I got general directions from staff at the lunch, didn't spy a row with this label. Lots of apples to pick even this late in the season. There was no need for a pole picker, but they had those for rent. Bear in mind there is a big hill down to reach a lot of the trees. We came with a 5yo and 2yo. 5yo managed fine, but 2yo got tired of walking sometimes. Luckily we had enough adults to share the load. Farm market is a short drive from the orchard, and of course we picked up some pumpkins and cider donuts. Everything was very well priced compared to other orchard markets."

"Beautiful orchard. You have to make reservations online. Just go onto the website - they ask for name and number of people in your party and then you choose your time slot. We actually did it as we got there (the original orchard we picked was Dr. Davis and that was packed!) But I don't recommend doing that. The later slots were all filled. When you enter the apple picking section they ask if you have a reservation. We first went to the store/supermarket but the actual orchard is a little ways down the road - we took the car and parked there. You only pay when you get there - you have the option of either small bags ($12/each) or a big bag ($45). I'm not sure if you can take 1 big bag for your whole party or if you would have to get 2, i guess it depends on the number of people, they would tell you. We walked quite a way to get any apples - a lot of the trees had already been picked bare but as we got deeper into the orchard there were more trees with apples. There were quite a few varieties of apples but the names are only on one end of the row, so if you walk the length of it and then walk the other side you don't quite know what you've got. I'm sure if it really mattered to you, you could ask someone from the farm. They also have plots of corn but of course those were done for the season. We stayed for a bit more than an hour - no one tells you when to leave . Masks are required at all times but regardless, it was lovely to be outside. They have porter potties by the parking lot if you need to go and also near the store ."
