Harbor Freight Tools

"I visited Harbor Freight Linden NJ location on 1/8/24 to purchase approximately $500.00 of items. I have never experience such a rude cashier at this location or any other Harbor Freight location. The store had an announcement at 7:55pm that it was closing in 5 minutes. I had 2 more items to get, I found one of the two items within 2 minutes after the announcement, knowing the store was closing I asked the young man that was on the floor straightening the store, where the last item I wanted to purchase was located. The young man walked me directly to the product(wonderful job by him). I did not see the exact item I wanted, so I pushed my shopping cart of items to the register where I found a customer making a purchase, I left the shopping cart there as I was going to return after asking the young man if there were any in the back stock room. He advised he would check, I then proceeded back toward the register to start the check out process, to hear a very stern and rude voice I said the store is closed, I stated that I'm waiting for the young man to advise if there was stock of the item I wanted . The female cashier stated once again we are closed, its 8pm in a very rude manner. I asked her, is this how you treat a customer by being rude. She stated again in the same rude tone we are closed. I then decided not to make my purchase as I proceeded to walk to the front door at 8:01 pm a young man I assume was the closing supervisor or manager walked out of the front office and said have a nice night. This experience should never have happened, the only one individual that handled themselves properly was the young man on the floor cleaning and straightening the store. He went out of his way to walk me directly to the product I needed. It irritates me that I have to take time out of my night to write a customer complaint. Thought you would like to know how one of your customers was treated."

"Went to this store looking for a tool, I asked one of the associates and was told “we don’t have it” looked online just to see that the store did sell the item and it was in stock at this store. I turned around and went back in. I’m assuming the lady that was standing at the entrance texting on her phone and laughing was the manager. I approached her with the picture I found on their website. She then showed me where the items were and walked away mumbling under her breath. As I was standing in line waiting to be checked out, the same associate then said “HELLO” really loud to get my attention instead of saying “can I help who’s next?@, or “next in line”. I then said to her, I thought you were talking to someone else and she replied “ no, I was talking to you.” As the lady was ringing up my items, she then started a conversation with another customer while holding my receipt. So I waited until she was finish with her conversation so I can get my receipt and leave, the worse experience I have ever experience while being a customer there. Employees need some soft skills training and classes. Very rude as if I did something to her when I was being kind and looking for an item I need. I will be returning the item and discontinue my shopping at harbor freight."
