"Recently moved to the area and setup an appointment with Dr Ali. After a 45 minute wait, I was seated in an outdated exam room with a cheap, uncomfortable chair. Was told that I had two medium sized cavities that would cost ~$200 to fill (even with insurance). They also recommended a fluoride treatment, sealant treatment and a night guard to prevent grinding. The fluoride and sealant treatment would be another ~$150 + $350 for the night guard which they claimed my insurance wouldn’t cover. I was suspicious of all these charges and recommended treatments, so I decided to visit my old dentist for a second opinion despite him now being over an hour away. My old dentist was shocked by Dr. Ali’s assessment and recommendations. Turns out I had just 1 very small cavity which my insurance fully covers. He confirmed my insurance also would fully cover my night guard. The fluoride and sealant treatments were wholly unnecessary. He told me some dentists push these treatments since they are quick and high margin. In conclusion, by getting a second opinion I paid $0 instead of over $700 with Dr. Ali. Would never consider returning to East Hanover Dental again and plan to report my experience to the appropriate medical oversight authorities so they can dig deeper into what appears to be an unethical practice which over charges patients and puts their bottom line above everything else."

The office is clean and welcoming. All of the staff are friendly and provide excellent customer service. I've recommended this practice to several friends and family and will continue to do so."
