Bean & Bean Fort Lee

"The “hot” drinks are never hot. They are lukewarm. If you request “extra hot” they are still barely warm in temperature. I used to go here daily but stopped due to this. It’s a shame because the coffee is good. The cashier argued with me that it should only be warm…so ridiculous! If a customer is paying premium price for a cup of coffee, honor his or her request. I think they changed owners because they used to actually serve HOT coffee."

"I am surprised this place is rated as high as it is. For me, it was nothing special. It was fine. (That's why I gave it 3 stars.) A few things about my experience: personally I prefer to drink out of ceramic or glass, but they only serve paper and plastic cups. Also maybe the barista was having a bad day but he seemed annoyed from the onset of the interaction. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 meals. I had a reward of a free drink but it was for a 12 oz and I guess the drink I ordered (cold brew) they would only make it 16 oz or bigger. I said I understood and asked if I could change it to something else that would qualify, and in response the barista kind of rolled his eyes and left the register and started making the original drinks that I just went ahead and paid full price for because it didn't seem like there was another option. For food, we got avo toast and a sandwich. The "poached" eggs are actually eggs cooked in a little metal tin ring and the avocado didn't seem to be seasoned at all. The food was very bland. I only ate a few bites of my toast which somehow managed to be both stale and mushy. There are so many legitimately good coffee / breakfast places around here, I'm taking this one off my list."

"Update: I tried the flat white and the taste of espresso was strong and good! Cafe is spacious and good place to work. They roast their own beans in NY and it's good. Some of their pastries are from Balthazar bakery which are delish. You can park in the parking garage building next door - free for 3 hours! Wish it were a tad bit cleaner and more inviting."

"This restaurant is one of our favorites places for their healthy, tasty and fresh breakfasts, even when we have never been on-site because we usually order home-delivery pretty early in the weekend mornings. Everything is fresh and greeny, the fruits, juices and bread, everything looks like morning field-picks! Our first choice is the avocado toast, simple but delicious, also the almond toast with banana. About the drinks, any juice is very refreshing and full of flavor and color. I think that this is a great option to have something tasty and healthy. Of course the delivery time matters, and it's really fast... one point added to these guys is that it is one of the very few businesses that open pretty early in the morning so you don't have to wait if you are an early-bird."
