"My wife and I brought our 18 month old son for an early pizza dinner before visiting Turtleback Zoo. Despite our 4:00 arrival the restaurant was jam packed and there was already a short wait. One of the employees said the wait would be about 20 minutes, but it was only 10-15, so no issues there. The service was prompt and efficient, getting our drinks quickly and taking our order as soon as we were ready. The buffalo wings were good, not fantastic; a little small and scrawny (and expensive - $15!) but very saucy, which we like. The star of the show here is undoubtedly the pizza. Thin and crispy crust, but perfect undercarriage with just the right amount of chew. We got sausage and half hot cherry peppers, and the flavors were incredible. Unfortunately our crust was a liiiiittle burnt - perhaps left 45 seconds too long in the oven. However, I would definitely recommend Star Tavern and would definitely try their pizza again."

"This is my first time to Stars tavern, and I loved it! I got the whole wheat pizza with all the vegetable toppings. The crust was thin and crunchy. The cheese and sauce were amazingly fresh. The vegetables were also all fresh, nothing canned. Prices were also reasonable for a small personal pizza. Definitely recommend if you are in the Orange area."

"I have always wanted to try Star Tavern. I happened to be in the area so finally was able to. Parking was easy with the restaurant having their own lot. It was a busy Sunday during football season but we were seated right away. Service was fast and friendly. My daughter and I split a Pesto pizza. Pesto, tomato sauce, and mozzarella. They only serve one size of pizza. A person can definitely finish one on their own but the split was a perfect amount for a small lunch. Thin with a slight crisp and not greasy. The crust had a good crunch. Easily one of the best pizzas I have had in NJ. If bar pies are your thing you should give it a try. I will be back."
