"As a little girl, about 55 years ago, we would get Italian food he when visiting my grandmother in Maplewood. The business is still in the family and still amazing. I live in California and cove for a visit every 6 months now. My family is sure to bring me here every time so I can have the Italian hot dogs. Can't find anything like them in CA. The owner, who knows my family from the frequent visits, is a really nice man and a fun personality. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!"
"I see the appeal. The crust is really light just the right combination of crispy and chewy. A little light on the sauce in the sauce to cheese ratio for my ideal but some folks prefer a cheesier slice. I drove 30 mins to come, I personally wouldn’t drive out of my way again but if in the area it’s a good option."
"I lived here 15 years, and I finally walked into Joe’s. The best slice of pizza this side of the Hudson. Bar pies, thin, crusty, perfect pairing is a tasty lager. So don’t expect some UES Famous Rays. Even better, a Jersey Landmark."
"haven’t even left the restaurant yet. haven’t even finished my pizza and i had to stop and leave a review. haven’t had pizza like this in a long time. cheesy but crunchy but doughy. very impressed. the owner joe was mopping the floor and i had to stop him to tell him he’s a genius. apparently they’ve been here 70 years and it was his grandpa Joe who is the genius. very nice guy. refreshing to see bosses in the store. will absolutely be back. there were also people sitting with bottles of wine. can’t wait to come back for dinner. blown away."
"Cash only. There is always plenty of parking, the pizza is fresh and Joe's has been my "quick" stop when I have a pizza craving I had the Sicilian slice extra hot and last time it was a pie to go. The dough, sauce and cheese blended perfectly."
