"Before booking the appt. I called and asked if they took my fiancé’s specific plan. I was told yes and that they are accepting new patients. I was relieved because there were no doctors in my area that accepted his insurance or that were accepting new patients. Even though it was an hour away, I booked the appt. for the following week. My fiancé has been in some pain, so I called to see if we can get an earlier appt and was told they had something earlier so we rescheduled. The day of the appt. we drove an hour away only to be told they did not accept his insurance (after I called to clarify) and that he could be seen as a self pay patient. My fiancé asked how much it would be and was told $100-$200. We stepped outside to speak, and when we came back inside we let them know that we could go ahead and follow through with the appt. only to be told it was actually going to be $300-$400. At that point we decided against seeing the doctor after being given misinformation twice. A lady came out from the back and told us that they do accept a version of his plan, but not his plan specifically, and that I spoke with her the other day to change the appt to the earlier date. I let her know that when I asked I specified his plan and was told yes they did accept his plan. I’ve made the same call multiples times to other offices and have had no issues in the past with the offices letting me know if they accept it or not. I felt as though their communication with patients (especially ones coming from about an hour away) needs to be improved upon. They didn’t apologize for the confusion or anything. We didn’t see the doctor so I can’t say how his service was, but the disappointment in the front desk staff would warrant us not going there."
