"I felt belittled, and that I was less of a person, with no compassion at all! Dr. Zhao said "that whatever was going on with me was not blood related, and to go back to my PCP." I then said to him, "so this is it, you are done with me, even though my platelets counts have fallen even more, and my RDW count went up higher." Dr. Zhao said it not to worry about the platelets! Excuse me! The counts were done over a thousand and I told him I was worried and concerned about it since I am an easy bruiser! Dr. Dr. Zhao thought I only had one iron infusion, when I in fact had 3 iron infusions. He should have known that! I felt he pushed me off to the Gastroenterologist. I understand why I need to have the procedures done, but it was his terrible bedside manner of saying he would only refer me for the endoscopy and let the Gastroenterologist decide if I should have a colonoscopy. Dr. Zhao said he would see me in three months and got up, went to the door and opened it. I had to ask him if I was supposed to wait for the nurse or follow him. He said to follow him out the door. I did not feel any compassion from Dr. Zhao as if I didn't have anything wrong with me and I was wasting his time. When I tried to mention something I read about high RDW's, he said "I am the Hematologist ..." That was arrogant!"
