Totier Creek Reservoir Park

"There was only one other car in the parking lot when we arrived on a Wednesday in June around 1:30. The first impression is that it is very neat and tidy. The parking lot is nicely paved. There is a kiosk with a picture of the trails, and a couple of picnic tables. There is also a place to put non-motorized boats into the reservoir. The bathrooms are “real” and clean but there is only one toilet. The hardest part was finding the beginning of the trails. There is a sign pointing to the right of the bathrooms but it’s hard to see the actual post where the trail starts when the trees are in full bloom. It’s there up by the tree line so be persistent! We did the outer loop which is a little over 2 miles. It took about and hour and 30 minutes but we stopped a lot. It’s not the most exciting hike but it is an easy loop with some views of the reservoir. Mostly, it’s a nice traipse through the woods. There are plenty of signs along the trails so no worries about getting lost. Oddly, there were a ton of downed trees. As far as bugs, the flies were the worst but they would come and go. We had on bug spray, so if there were mosquitoes they left us alone. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no cell service. Recommend for some quite time with nature."

"Well, we were here a couple of weeks ago. We came from SC for a wedding near Scottsville. Looking for places near the water we found this park. It is really beautiful and very clean. There is a small ramp, only for boats WITHOUT motor or cayack or canoes. A small pier where you can fish, there are also picnic tables, grills, bathrooms and several trails, ideal for hiking. The place is beautiful and quiet, very relaxing and you are in direct contact with nature. If you don't want mosquitoes to ruin your day, bring your repellent. One more thing, there is no internet, we arrived with the GPS, but to return it did not work, keep this in mind so as not to get lost, since this park is quite isolated."

"What a beautiful paddle. Unfortunately, there is a large tree down blocking the ability to get all the way down but still a beautiful place to enjoy an afternoon. There are also ground trails."

"Totier Creek Reservoir is a neat little spot to explore whether it’s by foot or by boat. We like to walk the trails with our dog, but our favorite thing to do is hit the water in the early evening for some fishing. The water is smooth, easy to navigate, and more expansive than you initially expect. It’s a beautiful location for watching wildlife, as heron, turtles and birds abound. The trails are fairly well kept, but they can be muddy and a little hard to follow at times."
