Dr. Ebenezer A. Nii-Moi, MD

"In 2009, Dr. Nii Moi was my OB/GYN. July of 2009, I found out that I was pregnant. Previous to 2009, I had 3 miscarriages. 4 months after finding out that I was pregnant, I was bleeding and in a lot of pain. I could barely walk, so I dragged myself to the ER. In the ER, the medical professionals saved me from having another miscarriage. I had a followup appointment with Dr. Nii Moi, and he said it was nothing. Told me to continue actives as normal. A few days later, I had another scare. I made an emergency appointment, but the only medical professional available was Nurse Practitioner Jennifer Pruhs. She examined me and immediately took ultrasounds. She found out that I had Placenta previa. She told me that I needed to go on immediate bedrest; however, she had to consult with Dr. Nii Moi first. She did and Dr. Nii Moi told her that he would not approve her recommendations and said that I didn’t need bedrest. He did not feel that I needed special attention. I could tell NP Pruhs didn’t agree, but couldn’t go against him. Instead, she simply said that she could see that I changed my doctor over to Dr. Angela Ferebee, and I could put myself on bedrest and wait for whatever she advises when I see her in 2 weeks. That day and NO thanks to Dr. Nii Moi, NP Jennifer Pruhs saved my son’s life!!! From my 4th month of pregnancy until I delivered, my son and I continued to be under the medical care and advisement of Angela Ferebee & Jennifer Pruhs, then later delivered via c-section by Dr. Matthew Whitted. My son was beautiful and healthy thanks to Ferebee, Pruhs, & Whitted! They saved his life! I’m in tears as I say this because I owe them so much! Medically, Black women are often ignored. When a Black doctor especially an African (Ghanaian) doctor ignores you, and almost causes a Black woman to lose her child out of arrogance…it’s disturbing and disgusting. I wish I could give him NO stars because Dr. Nii Moi doesn’t deserve it!!! If I listened to him, I would have had my 4th miscarriage, AND I would have NEVER been able to enjoy my ONLY living son for almost 12 years!!!"
