"Absolutely horrible experience, wish there was a 0 star option. Complete medical neglect and blatant disregard for my concerns and pushed her own agenda the whole time. Please see ANYONE else besides “Dr Lucas”. UPDATE: I spoke with Bridget and she made excuses for ”Dr. Lucas” the entire call and had nothing to offer in terms of how the situation would be handled / how this wouldn’t happen to another patient again. Didn’t expect anything less from VPFW. If a doctor is that new, they shouldn’t be performing on patients until they’re competent enough to do so. CONTEXT: I made my appointment to be treated for BV. Since August/September of 2022, I have had BV 5/6 times… that’s NOT normal. I expressed my concerns to “Dr. Lucas” and she immediately jumped to me needing to be STD/STI checked. If she had spent even 30 seconds reviewing my history prior to walking into my room, she would see I had been swabbed AND blood drawn a few months prior due to another provider also pressing me (and neither my partner or I have been with anyone else since, so there’s no need to be tested). The tone “Dr. Lucas” used when insisting multiple times to get tested was insulting and made me feel disgusting about my body. After that, without even looking up, she suggested I go on birth control pills on top of the IUD I already have. Which, I found to be shocking considering I had an IUD so I wouldn’t have to take the pill… not to mention her recommendation is a bandaid to the real issue. But since she couldn’t even give me the time of day to LISTEN to my MEDICAL CONCERNS that’s not surprising. I kid you not, she looked inside of me for all of 10 seconds, stood up, proceeded to remove her gloves, and start packing up her items. Claiming that, “I’m all good!”. I literally had to remind her I came here to get treated for BV and that I KNOW MY BODY. Considering how much I’ve had it in the past 12 months I’m pretty sure I would know when I have BV. Her response: “Well, we can swab you if you want.” IF I WANT? That’s what I came here for! It was quite frankly comical. So she reluctantly called the nurse back in and did a swab. Cherry on top, I asked her a question regarding my medical history and when she came back with the answer, “Dr. Lucas” (and I kid you not) peeked her little head around the door to answer it. She couldn’t even come in and close the door behind her. As a provider myself I don’t play around when it comes to HIPPA. And the answer you have all been waiting for… my results came back POSITIVE for BV today! After 6 years with VPFW, I am DONE!!! I’ve spoken to many women regarding VPFW’s dismissal of concerns and straight up horse play. It’s not just one location, one provider, it’s VPFW as a whole and I strongly urge you all to pick a better location. Having your concerns HEARD and LISTENED to should be the BARE MINIMUM! Beyond shameful, beyond pitiful."
