"This was my first time seeing a gynecologist so I was quite nervous, but Dr. Hutcheson was very kind and put me at ease. All of the other staff were friendly and welcoming. I also appreciated how quickly I was in and out, I was there for less than 45 minutes and in those 45 minutes I had each one of my concerns addressed. Overall, it was probably the best experience one could have at the gynecologist."

"I have been going to Virginia Womens Center for ever but this trip I felt extremely rushed and I was not given time to process or ask good questions. I feel that things could have been explained much more thoroughly. When I tried to take a second to google the new medications the doctor was recommending I was immediately interrupted so that they could get me out of the room. (i had not been in the room long…this was the fastest I have ever even gotten back to the doctor) I was also disappointed that when I went to the front desk to ask a question I was told I should have thought to ask more questions about my prescription earlier and that I had to call back to ask my nurse about how many refills and if it had been sent to my pharmacy. I get that she was not a nurse and couldnt answer specific medical questions but that response in addition to the earlier treatment made me feel like a number that they needed to just get in and out of an appointment."

"Awesome experience at a doctors office! I will seen very quickly, had an appointment for a yearly exam at 9 AM. I arrived almost exactly at nine and would have been completely done by 9:30 if I hadn’t asked more questions which led to my getting tests done at so he could answer my question adequately. And to that point, he was very attentive to my questions, and took seriously the concerns that I brought into the office. As an African-American woman, that does not always happen!!"

"I came back to VWC after moving and being with another provider in the area for about 10 years. So glad I returned! Excellent patient portal and scheduling system that has options for both in-person and virtual visits. Just prior to my appointment, a very kind woman called to ask additional information about my records since it had been so long since my last visit. My new doctor, Douglas Hutcheson MD, is very informative. A little dry? Haha. But very pleasant! I never doubted his genuineness and interest in my wellbeing. I have only had one session with Dr. Hutcheson so far, but I look forward to updating this after more (hopefully positive) experiences!"

"I’ve been with the practice for many years but this was the 1st time meeting Dr. Hutcheson. He is very thorough. He takes his time and explains everything to you. I’m usually not comfortable with switching doctors but he was great. It was like I had been seeing him all these years. I highly recommend him for anyone. You won’t be disappointed."
