"We visited Ashland in 2008 as we were heading to DC for the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony for Barack Obama. We drove through Ashland and I saw a sign that caught my eye ( Ashland the center of the Universe ) I thought when I read it, what a claim to make. So we visited their visitor center. Ashland is a nice place for those looking for a small town feel, where people know you by name. It’s Mayberry where you can trust your neighbors. It’s a town where you can appreciate the small community of folks who have a vested interest in keeping and making the community safe and better for everyone. Ashland has grown since 2008 with more businesses and stores for shoppers but it still remains the same giving you the feeling of a small town. Ashland the Center of the Universe."

"Nice little place, however they are not Amtrak and don't sell tickets. They will gladly help you out with contacting Amtrak though."

"It is a nice visitors center and place to watch CSX and Amtrak trains. The visitors center manager and volunteers are nice to talk to. Be aware that it is only open 9 Am to 5PM. After hours you can still sit on the benches or at the tables and watch the trains go by and just enjoy the scenery. To the other person that was trying to find the visitors center, you have to watch the signs. Then park in the appropriate spot along the road or use the free parking lot a block south of the station."
