The Delano Apartments 2745 29th Street Northwest, Washington, District of Columbia 20008

"Until recently, this building was great. I moved in during the height of the pandemic, and outside some initial maintenance issues with leaking windows which was addressed quickly by the excellent maintenance team, The Delano seemed to be a calm, quiet, and well-maintained building. Then the Stompers moved in above me. Previously, there had been a long time tenant who lived above me. While she occasionally slammed a cabinet door or dropped items on the floor, there wasn't a noise problem. However, the new tenants, who moved in about a two months ago, seem unable to understand that someone lives beneath them and there is almost constant impact noise from slammed doors and heavy walking/stomping when they are home. There are no children in the unit, only two adults, one of whom often sounds like he is running and jumping across the apartment. It can sometimes sound like a herd of elephants. I've lived in many multi-family dwellings over the years and have never experienced anything like this. While management has tried to assist by purchasing rug pads for them, the stomping continues, albeit slightly muffled. While I understand this is an older building that wasn't built to meet modern acoustic codes for minimizing impact noise, I now suffer through almost constant pounding on the floor when tenants are awake and present in their unit. If I need to concentrate for work, study or read, I have to wear noise cancelling headphones or run the air conditioner all the time. So be advised, if you are hoping for a quiet building with residents who understand the courtesy required for living in a multi-family dwelling, this one probably isn't for you."

"I lived at The Delano for 6 years and truly had the best experience. The building is extremely clean and well managed. The location is amazing, on a street that's not too busy, and right next to Rock Creek Park. But to me, the best part was that the property managers, maintenance crew, and front desk security crew, are simply the best. Their commitment to taking care of tenants is above and beyond, and they honestly became friends over the years. If you're looking for an apartment in DC, you can't do better than this!"

Our apartment was filled with light and had retro charm with modern updates. We will always have fond memories of living here and highly recommend it."

The common areas are kept clean and refreshed, it really felt like home. If you are visiting a tenant during the late afternoons and weekends, you will have a friendly welcome from Doreen the front door manager, she is just wonderful! I would definitely move back if possible."

"I lived in a 1BR at the Delano from 2011-2019 and have only good things to report. It is a special little community of friendly residents ranging from just out of college, to families with kids, and older folks. The management company and staff keeps the building in excellent shape, are extremely attentive to maintenance requests, and fosters the sense of community with quarterly gatherings. You can't beat the location and the roof deck is great too. I will always fondly remember the Delano!"
