"Future tenants beware - I'd seriously consider renting elsewhere. There are a litany of safety concerns at this building and management seems dead set on not providing any resolution other than constantly stating that the building is secure (it's not - cars have been broken into and/or stolen from the secure garage, items stolen from onsite storage units, packages stolen from the package room, full blown altercations in the lobby, etc.). We are told to call 911 if we notice anything or anyone out of place in a 14-story building with dozens, if not hundreds of other people living here. Told to move elsewhere if we feel unsafe. Oh, that last option will cost you, though. Cancelling comes with a required 60 days notice and two month's rent to cancel the lease itself. Don't forget the two months of rent I'm assuming you'd still have to pay during that 60 day period. Plus the cost of your move elsewhere. So, several thousand dollars at the very least when all is said and done. Also something of note - Camden Property Trust, along with several others, was recently named in a lawsuit related to price gouging tenants. The building itself is just meh in my opinion. It reminds me of "luxury" college apartments. Cheap material, shoddy paint jobs, and the like. Most of the apartments with balconies face inward, so be prepared to possibly see your neighbors or their guests in little to no clothing with their blinds all the way up. The dog park, if you can call it that, also faces inward so you will hear amplified barking at all hours, but that's part of city living. Suffice it to say, I'm a one and done renter in this building or any Camden property. There are plenty of other options to choose from in DC proper and the surrounding area."
"I have been living at Camden NoMa for over a year now and I must say that the staff here is extremely responsible, invested, and personable. From my first experience at the leasing office with Sait, to speaking with the property manager, Michele, to the non-emergent maintenance requests (shout out to Damion Coleman for helping me with my washer), everyone at Camden is extremely helpful, professional, and kind!"
"After residing in Camden Noma for a year, bidding farewell left me with a sense of melancholy. The property was truly remarkable, boasting numerous amenities that enhanced my living experience. The concierge staff stood out for their friendliness and professionalism, contributing positively to my time there. Thanks to Duncan's assistance on my moving day, the entire process went seamlessly. I enthusiastically endorse Camden to anyone seeking a residence in the D.C. a"
"The short of it: Looking forward to when my lease is over after 3.5 years here, would recommend looking elsewhere; current lawsuit again Camden. First, take a look at the 5 star reviews vs 1-2 star reviews and who wrote them. The former appears to be mostly individuals who have simply toured the property and the latter are residents like myself. Not entirely sure why an individual would feel compelled to write a review about a living environment if they’ve only toured but that’s besides the point. Also many of the recent 5 star reviews are about the comedy show that Camden hosted last month rather than the actual building/management. The Pros: The concierge! Big huge shout out to Akini, Dume, Michael, Paola, Duncan, George, Ish, and especially Jay - you guys are absolutely wonderful. They’ve always been so beyond kind and we can talk about life and happenings; we miss all those who no longer work here! I always feel so comfortable and also safe with them (though I recognize they’re not security, they provide a deterrent and can and have threatened to call police on those causing trouble). The space is fairly modern but not crazy, there are two fitness spaces, two pools, and generally plenty of room between the courtyard, rooftop, and lounge spaces. Not to mention the printers available. Maintenance is very timely and helpful when you put a request in Cons: First and most recently; Camden is being SUED by WDC due to findings of collusion with an outside company and other DC rental managements to illegally inflate rent prices with NOTHING being acknowledged or done by Camden. Recently, L St concierge desk was taken away with nothing but a security camera to monitor the comings and goings through that entrance leaving it somewhat exposed. We now have two package rooms on Pierce St side of the lobby. For those on Pierce St, there is a big package room however no refrigerators for perishable items. For those on L St there is a small room that houses the refrigerators. Mind you the L St package room has a number of refrigerators meant to support ONE side of the building so now instead of having approximately 12 refrigerators for all residents, we have only 6. Moving on, we no longer get notifications that we have a new package leaving a couple problems. One is that you likely will not know, at least in a timely manner, if you get a surprise gift from friends/family etc. and must manage to keep track of your package arrivals down to the minute. It is a bit of a game however since the package still need to be marked by concierge, which takes some time after arriving, however you have to retrieve your package immediately after its placement in the package room or you risk it being stolen, which has already occurred personally to me not even 5 days after this new system has been in place. The large spike in water bill on only Phase 2 side from $120 per month with Camden stating there was nothing wrong, after MANY complaints finally found there was an issue with billing. They then refunded an undetermined amount of money over 3 months though no formal report was given so furthermore, undetermined how much the total was and if it was the full amount we were refunded. The AC, elevators, and garage doors will go out - a lot. And be out for quite awhile. For example one of the garage doors was out for over a month with the only garage door working being on Pierce St which had construction on both ends of the street, often being blocked off. Most recently, both of the garages were broken and Camden’s solution was to completely close one, keep the other open 24/7 and sometimes have an individual sitting next to the entrance to “monitor” the traffic. There have been many thefts including break ins of cars, a whole car being stolen out of the “secure garage” (when the doors were actually both working) and even out of secured storage units."
"I have been living in Camden NoMa for close to 3 years now. I LOVE the apartments. Although there have been some changes, it does not compare to how expensive and small some of the new apartments around this area are. Camden NoMa, being the oldest apartment in the area, it does a great job maintaining itself in good condition for tenants."
