"I’ve been renting in Arlington for almost 20 years. This place was my favorite. The leasing office is always available and always nice. My unit was spacious and renovated. It was so big I didn’t know what to put where so I was always repositioning my furniture. It was nice. I was sad to move."
"My roommate and I have lived here for about two and a half years and I don't quite understand some of the more negative reviews. I'll list out some pros and cons below Pros - Great price for a shared 2 bed 1 bath and rent hikes have been VERY modest for the last two years. I would be hard pressed to find something cheaper around this area for the same quality - Friendly staff - they usually address our questions quickly and resolved an issue I was having with one of my neighbors in a very professional manner - Maintenance response is usually pretty fast, usually same day or the day after - Good location - grocery stores and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Very close to DC - Pet friendly and no pet rent charges - Utilities included with rent Cons - The buildings are old so yes you will get the occasional mouse or cockroach. We had one mouse when we moved in and haven't seen one since. Given the age of the building, it's to be expected - The paint, carpeting, and amenities like fridge and stove are older and pretty cheap but that's reflected in the rent. - Parking spaces are very narrow and I would not want to park a nice car here. I usually don't have an issue finding at least one spot even coming back late at night (and parking is free which is a huge bonus) - Not very guest friendly. No guest parking passes (goes back to the parking issue) and charging someone over $100 a season to use the pool as a guest is outrageous. Thankfully there is somewhat of a supply of free street parking nearby. I've enjoyed my time at Dorchester and would recommend it for someone looking for a cheaper, more affordable place to live around Arlington."
