"This is a tough hike. i did it in one way, going clockwise around the trail. the condition of the path in some places was quite dangerous due to the leaves but it was well marked. personally, i don’t think the views were quite worth the difficult of the hike. if you check out the video on this review, that’s the best view. you can get there by doing around a 3-4 mile out and back hike if you just want a nice picture but i was kind of disappointed by the rest of the vistas."
"One of my favorite hikes, you get a little bit of everything on this hike. That's what I love about it"
"I have done the AT section of the Three Ridges Wilderness, but never the Mau Har Trail (blue blaze) that connects to Maupin Shelter until now! Roughly a 15 mile + loop from the Tye River Footbridge on Route 56 and is definitely strenuous in the 3 mile section that makes up the Mau Har Trail. I would recommend doing this with a hiking partner just because of how slippery the multiple stream crossing were and how dangerous a fall could potentially be out there. Campbell's Creek is amazing though with plenty of swimming holes and several awesome camping spot along it. Don't be surprised if you see snakes. It's that time of year. :-) I didn't camp on the Mau Har, but instead camped beside Hanging Rock to watch the sunset. Phenomenal!! Oh, there is a water source to filter about a half mile before, just so you know. I totally recommend this loop. Happy and safe trails."
