"Waited on hold 19+ minutes, got on the phone with someone named Courtney who was incredibly rude, clearly wasn't listening to me (the first thing I said was that I needed to set up an appointment as a NEW patient). Abruptly, a few minutes into the call, she says, "wait, new patient? We're not taking those, call someone else to check if they do" and instantly hung up before I could even utter a word. Didn't give me information on who exactly I was supposed to be calling, didn't wait to talk to me about if new patients might be accepted later. I just moved here, and my sister goes do a doctor here that she likes, but WOW. That was so unbelievably inconsiderate. I don't know who else is taking patients, but even when you do open up, I won't be coming to you."

"I've needed to see a doctor for a long time now since moving to Appomattox. I finally get in for an appointment today and due to being new to the area I was about 5 minutes late from trying to find this place. I get in the door and stand another 7 minutes while the girl pre-screens another patient then I am told that because I was over 10 minutes late (I was not) that I cant be seen and because I've had mild nausea due to stress and not having my meds (the reason to establish a family doctor so urgently today) that they wouldn't be able to see me anyways. I can't review a doctor here because they are impossible to see. I have some very serious health concerns and this is how I am treated. Disappointed to say the least."

"I am a young otherwise healthy person who has not had a regular doctor over the last several years. I recently moved to Appomattox and want to start seeing a doctor regulary as I am now over 30 and have family history of multiple medical problems. I attempted to get a new patient visit scheduled and the receptionist was rude and condesenconde. She couldn't understand that I didn't have any medical records at a specific doctors office and told me I would need to get records from every urgent care physician id never seen before I could be seen. I tried to explain to her that wasn't possible but again she was rude and insisted that was the only way I could be seen . That's fine I'll take my good isurance money elsewhere!"

"I called that morning for something that should have been considered extremely urgent, they could not work with me in the 3 hour time slot I gave them, then scheduled a tentative appointment while I tried to see if I could re-arrange my day to make that work which I could not. So i called them back 20 minutes later to cancel. Now I get a nasty letter calling me a no-show telling me that I "affected their whole day and other clients by being a no show" and marked my record. This is poor business and I expect medical professionals to be held to a higher standard than that. My appointment was only in the computer for 20 minutes and I very clearly called and cancelled. Now they expect fees for not showing up. Its just another way to squeeze extra money out of people. I still never got my emergency dealt with."

"Allegedly they require new patients to go in, fill out a release form for transfer of medical recs, then go home & wait a few days until called. Rather than use technology to transfer recs as professionals do. When I'd originally gone there 8 years ago I was a smoker, and they put a very large colored label on my folder that stated so in bold letters. They were very rude about that, which is why I stopped going. This time the first question they asked was what insurance I had; they never bothered to discover that I quit smoking years ago. They're arrogant & apparently patient care is much less important than doctor's ego."
