"I started the ADN program at Centra College of Nursing back when the new college was being completed (2012/2013). The curriculum was different and I will say much more difficult. I was not successful at that time. During their transition over to the new college, there were many changes with administration and faculty. A lot of people do not like change but as a nurse and almost new grad RN, I have learned to accept, adapt, and overcome. I returned in January 2015 for my LPN and flew through with no issues. I did not give up and applied again for the ADN program Fall of 2019. The ENTIRE curriculum was different. Again....change. With prior nursing experience, it made sense to me but someone with no experience, I could not fathom how jumping into this new concept based curriculum would make sense from day 1 without any background knowledge. As the semesters went on, everything started to click! The lightbulb went off. This is why I love learning about nursing. The critical thinking and trying to figure out "why this makes that happen". That's what we were doing in our classes. I think the concept teaching is great because each semester, they get more in depth with each body system and how diseases, illnesses, medications, and lifestyle habits relate to and impact the body. I read reviews a lot and will choose places to go or purchase things solely on reviews. I have learned than most reviews are negative because people don't take the time to leave positive reviews. If something is good, then you have nothing to say. Sure there have been changes with the college and the program but there will always be changes in life and in nursing. Adapt and overcome. I graduate in 26 days from the ADN program and I value the hands on experience that I have had from literally day 1 as well as the motivation from the instructors and educators from the college. They are all wonderful and want to see us all succeed. I cannot wait to pick up where I am leaving off with my BSN!"

"the lack of communication, and the impossibility to reach someone by telephone is very frustrating. I was very interested in this school."

"I have a feeling that a good portion of the negative reviews are students who did not make the cut for one reason or another, which doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of education or instructors. I graduate in May 2021 and my experience has been excellent. My instructors have been motivating and my classmates have become some of my closest friends (and girlfriend)!"

"Horrible experience! From the front office staff to the cold blooded instructors. Absolutely no positive motivation to help you excel. Figure it out yourself. Please keep moving."
