Hampton Inn Richmond - Airport

"The best thing about this hotel by far is the staff. They were some of the most helpful and friendly staff I’ve ever seen at a hotel. However, that’s kind of where the positives end. I had been locked out of my room not once, but twice. First, my digital key didn’t work and locked me out and I had to go to the front desk to get a physical card. Next day, that card didn’t work either. The staff did fix it the second time though and didn’t have the problem afterwards. Also, the pool has a broken latter that isn’t really safe to swim near. The bed could also use an update as I could feel the springs when I was laying down. Lastly, I thought the breakfast was disappointing. They kept running out of hot food, which was surprising since it wasn’t too busy when I went."

"I reserved 2 rooms. We had 7 kids with us & were on a football trip. After checking in they provided us with 4 clean towels & said sorry we don’t have anymore. You have to wait until ppl check out & laundry is washed tomorrow….I had to go purchase towels so we could all shower. The indoor pool & fitness center was closed for the entire weekend, of course the only way to find that out was by trying to use it after already being checked in. The website had no mention of anything being closed. I’d call before booking if this is important to you. Specifically the front desk staff was rude & did not seem to care about anything. The trash bins throughout the hotel were constantly over flowing. The breakfast was very minimal & they wouldn’t refill any of the food after 9:30 even though it is suppose to be available until 10am. Overall very poor. Save your money and stay at the Marriott or The Drury over this hotel!"

"Stayed here recently before an early flight. Room was very nice. Staff was helpful. Parking lot was very well lit. hotel security seemed fine.Hotel was about 70% full, But the room was still very quiet. Hotel is 3 minutes from the airport. And located in a cluster with other hotels. Will definitely stay here again next time I have an early flight."

"Stayed one night ...bathroom and room in general was very clean, beds comfortable, room decor somewhat dated. Two issues ... the A/C air flow direction could not be controlled and blew on the person sleeping on the side of the bed located directly opposite. Also, drapes need to be shortened to be able to be closed allowing the room to be sufficiently dark at night when sleeping."

"Rooms: straight from the 80s. kinda smelled like it too. Definitely needs updating. The room doors slam very hard.. even the lobby needs a deep clean. I was only there for 3hrs (late night flight cancellation) and I was very ready to leave. Front Desk: you can definitely tell the agent was just there for the check. no greetings, no smiles, i also never saw and agent who didn’t stand up to check in, weird. I will say that the check-in process was quick Location: very very close to the airport and they have a shuttle that was on time and friendly"
