"It disappointed me to have to rate this stay low. The hotel is beautiful and spacious, however very much in disrepair. Only having 2 out of 4 (1 on each side) total working elevators is a major problem. There can be major wait times for the elevator. I tried ice machines on 3 different floors and still came back without ice. Spending on a nicer hotel and finding rusty door fixtures and peeling door in the bathroom didnt sit right. While I have no specific complaints about the service, things just seem to always move slowly, expect to find lines wherever you go. Food and drink at their internal "restaurant" were overpriced for what you receive. I felt it was set up to be a wonderful place but failed to perform."
"We were greeted at the front desk by the friendly Anthony and boy did he save the day! We arrived late and unfortunately through a booking error, we received the wrong room type. Anthony went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure my family was comfortable and received the correct accommodations (which was especially appreciated given the late hour!). Anthony is incredibly knowledgeable about the surrounding Richmond area and made our late-night check-in a breeze! Thank you Anthony - and Hilton - for the superb customer service! We will be back. :)"
"Okay so let’s get into these reviews. The good, bad and the ugly. Staff (5 stars) Property (5 stars) The good; the staff is great. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Indoor pool location from 6am-10 pm. Food in the restaurant was fresh tasty; Amanda at the bar was amazing. Stay came with free drink, and light snack from 530-7 pm. Free breakfast 6 am. Full disclosure this is my first embassy stay; I normally use another one of the properties called Tapestry. Tapestry is a strong 4 stars. Love the balcony feature in the room. (Small walk out balcony) Received an email immediately after getting in the room to make sure there weren’t any issues with the room. Rain forest coffee in the room (5 stars) Temperature controlled within the room. Plenty of light natural and lamps. Location right off the highway. Plenty to do in this area if you passing through. Put short pump in your maps. You can jump on 64 and be in short pump in no time. Bad (kinda I guess) (but not really) Parking was a fee of $10 but I wasn’t surprised the website displayed that before booking. Staff also made we aware at check in. A pass was given to me to place in the window of the car. The parking lot is so huge I don’t understand the paid parking. This parking process probably keeps people from just using the lot. This is a huge property and the parking during peak times could become a struggle if no guest use the lot Requested an early check in. Wasn’t able to get it but checked into what seemed to be an empty property. Check in is 4 pm. The ugly Just the previous reviews. Seems most were upset about the parking fee. In all fairness this was fully disclosed. Why I’m not a fan it was disclosed before booking. Property condition reviews. While the property finishing like paint and trim weren’t perfect; you’d have to be looking for imperfections. And if you are that picky about paint and trim work; stay at the Jefferson at $500 a night. The paint there is spectacular. I’m almost sure they paint the rooms once a day (sarcasm) Toilet handle did need a little jiggle for it to stop running. I did receive the email at check in but found this issue hours later when the toilet wouldn’t flush. A little jiggle and 2 minutes last I could flush. Wasn’t a big deal to me. OVERALL- IN CLOSING: Over all I’ll give this property 4.5 stars. Would I use this location again? Yes. And I plan on coming to E’terie ( hotel restaurant) even when I’m not staying here. My only concern is the parking. I’ll update the review on this process."
"This hotel was very different from other previous stays in the past. Unnecessary charges along with mediocre service has brought the quality of this hotel down. We stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions on the same week. Upon arriving our first time, I tried to check in at 3:57 and was told that I had to wait until 4 in order to avoid a $50 early check in charge. I was then told by the supervisor Cameron that I had to pay an extra $75 for both dogs when the policy was a base charge of $75 for a maximum of two pets. I was then told that I had to result to a lower floor even though I booked and requested a higher floor and called ahead to confirm my high floor with them knowing I had pets. When we got to the hotel room we noticed a rhino pill wrapper (sex enhancement pill) found in between the bed. We also discovered dried blood on the curtain of the patio balcony. When we tried to use the bathroom sink the water would not go down the drain and no matter how low or how much we tried to change the temperature of the room on the thermostat. The room remained hot and muggy. The breakfast was what we hoped outweigh all the negatives. But the breakfast seemed to be stale and almost seemed as if everything was reheated from the morning before. Our second stay at hotel, we discovered plastic bags of hot leftover trash in one of the hotel cabinets. The door in the bathroom was coming off its hinges making it hard to close. Along with the floors being sticky, the room stenched of cigarettes. This hotel used to be our first and only choice whenever I would travel through the area. But the meaningless policies along with the subpar service and amenities. Crosses this hotel out of my list."
"I think this might be my first Google review ever, but I want to give anyone who may be considering this hotel a heads up. Choose a different place to stay. Check in is at 4pm. If you attempt to check in early at the desk, then they quickly tell you about the $50 fee. However, we were able to get into our room around 2:30pm using the app which is strange. The $10 parking fee makes no sense at all and I’m not sure what they would do for guests who miss the paper signs about the new fee. This seems like a scam honestly as parking never seems to be full. Our room was 87 degrees when we entered so we immediately turned the heat off. However, it never cooled. Apparently the hotel has control over the temperature and had it on full blast heat. We continually had to open the exterior window for relief from the heat. This allowed us the opportunity to hear very colorful conversations from our neighbors and all sorts of fun smelling smoke products throughout the night. Bathroom was mostly clean except for the door (photo attached) which made the space feel dirty. Hand soap in our room was empty, no body wash in the shower and there is no bar soap available. Overall, a very poor experience. I definitely expected better for $200+. Stay at your own risk."
