"Very unfriendly vibe. They were doing renovations and weren’t very accommodating. Tap water was brown. We are Hilton diamond members and my son is a future UVA student so we expect regular visits to the area and we are looking for a place to come back to. We will not stay here again."

"stayed over the holidays... excellent room - clean and roomy, bed was just right - not too firm nor too soft; and staff particularly Hassan was very courteous and helpful ...check in went very smoothly ; breakfast was a plus - with a good variety such as a waffle maker and good tasting oatmeal."

"BED BUGS!!! We stayed here one night towards the end of 2023 and woke up to a dozen bed bugs crawling around. We got out of there as soon as we could and went to tell the front desk. We expected profuse apologies but were met with skeptical looks and an attitude of disbelief. They said a refund would only be possible after an inspector came which would take a whole week. Who knows where the bugs will have spread to by then. Absolutely disgusting. We were incredibly disappointed with staff and our experience in general."

"I stayed in Charlottesville on an overnight Amtrak layover. I was looking for a hotel near the station and decided to give the Hampton a try. It is only about 2 blocks from the station which makes it convenient. It is also next to the CATS bus stops, so you can catch the #7 out to the north side for restaurants and stores if you prefer to explore a bit. The room was very nice and clean. The bed is more comfortable than most hotels. The hotel texted me shortly after I arrived to ask how my room was which I have never experienced. I replied that the chair in my room would not lock upright. When I returned to my room after dinner, I found the chair replaced. Nice surprise. I recommend this hotel - especially if you find yourself on an Amtrak layover."

"Hotel location is great but the employees are so rude. I had to wait 10 min for someone to check me in. She looked frustrated of my presence. And there was a lady by the name Brenda who smell’s as she never took a shower for days. I am surprised Hilton do not have such policies. She was rude. Very disappointed and will continue staying at other Hampton Inn but absolutely NOT at this location."
