"This is an absolute local treasure. Highly recommend visiting. Be sure to ask the volunteers questions; they are full of local knowledge. (Special thanks to Rich! Be sure to ask about the big Bible and the cat story.) If you are a quilter or pottery buff, you're really going to love this place."

"So much history in one building! Our whole experience was great. The staff was kind, knowledgeable and ready to answer questions. They were amazing with my 6 year old son who is a huge train enthusiast. It was warm in the museum and inside the model train car, so be prepared, but they have water and cool air in the lobby."

"Nice little regional museum. Lots of hands on opportunities which isn't very common with museums in my experience. A good way to spend an hour or two getting a close up encounter with a good range of 19th century American history in the Shenandoah Valley. Just fyi, this isnt heavily focused on the civil war which is refreshing."

"My children (4 and almost 2) and I went to the museum on a Saturday. We arrived and the kids already saw the train, they were very excited. Its definitely a very nice museum and the kids had a great time running around. We also were able to see the model train 'show' in one of the trains. That was awesome, very impressive. We also enjoyed going into the caboose. Very nice set up. Maybe not appropriate for very small children but definitely a must see if you are in the area."

"Go see the caboose! It alone is more than worth the price of admission. It has the bunk where the crew slept, the cupola set up for viewing, the dining area, and kitchen area all set up. It is amazing. So many of the cabooses are either not restored or empty shells. It was amazing. The museum has other fine exhibits too. The section on pottery was educational. There were even pottery pieces that you were allowed to pick up in the center of the room. You could feel the grooves put in by the potter's hands. The museum itself covers the entire period of Strasburg history from the Native Americans to the 1990's. With many if not all of the exhibits donated by people in the community, it gives you a sense of the place and the people."
