"I am an student currently attending Captial High School , and I have to say that from my 9th grade year to my 10th ( grade level currently) the school been heading down hill. Strict Rules and being disrespected by teacher, we don't even have no brakes ! Some of the teacher here is unacceptable , and when we a group of kids complain about them nothing is done . I currently was just watching an situation with an teacher keeping kids hostage and trying to take there phone , even when they way trying to put them up . Are lunch sucks , we are limited to where we can gofor lunch and are lunches are to big to block off unused hall way , + sometime were not even allowed to go outside . This is very unacceptable . We should want to come to school and learn and we should not be treated like we're in jail , we should have some type of freedom. I understand some can't follow the rules , but some of the rules that applies here is just foolish and uncalled for . So if your an parent and seeing this don't not like you kid attend Captial High School. ( p.s they might make me delete this , Also don't get forget about the MOLD!)"
"I am currently a student at Capital High School , I believe this school doesn’t live by the kanawha county schools standards and regulations . Teachers behaviors are unacceptable , I know some teachers are giving their and all and putting in effort but others are unfortunately disrepectful and unappreciative . Without students : teachers would be without a job , being disrepectful to students , would force students to leave and also transfer kids . Many kids don’t give reviews on here because they don’t know how but I personally from a teacher and student perspective Capital High School is not a well taught school. I advise you do not enroll or transfer in your kids to this school. One incident happened this morning after the cell phone policy was misused , a teacher who teaches in Egypt ( or the second building ) acted like a body guard and would not let the kid move or go any where after seeing other kids with there phones out . there was 3 teachers on duty and didn’t stop the teacher from abuse of power & didn’t stop other kids . They must know that their co-workers were being unacceptable . The lunches capacity is to big to block off unused hallways such as the vending machine hallway . Their food is incredibly terrible , they reuse the same food over and over . We eat pizza all the time which really isn’t acceptable for kids because they desire more than just pizza . During breakfast we are only limited to one juice and one milk . The fruit is bad and is not cleaned everyday it is reused and put back in the fridge . So parents I advise you to not send your kid to Capital High School ! This school is not appropriate , they will tell me sooner or later to take this review off but be cautious . ⚠️ They do not want their truth and reputation to be exposed . This is basically jail ! Help us get this word out to neighboring schools and counties . Thank You . ❗️❗️"
"I'm a former student from Capital high school I just been suspended for not responding to the administrators.I advise you not to let your children attend Capital high school. That school is very racist and they think they can strip you of your rights but I know my rights and I know what I'm standing for and it's definitely not Capital High."
"Capitol High is the worse school I have ever seen. I have only lived in West Virginia for 3 weeks and I had to withdraw my daughter from Capitol High. I have to send her back to Georgia to finish school. They suspended my daughter for not talking back to their administrators. They are failing her in Math and Social Studies because they didn't have a tablet to give her for the first two weeks of school, then the teachers bully her because she has a I.E.P. And they give her no assistance in your classes. The teachers and administrators are very disorganized and confusing. Kanawha board of education sit back and do nothing to better the school and they do not like complains either. I hope the federal government shout down Capitol High for violating second 504 and children with learning disabilities . Shame on you Kanawha county board of education ."
"This school can be described in one word: "odd". It is as if there is no central authority at the school. Every day is a set of events which just sort of "happen". I have never once been stopped in the hallway for being out of class due to the severe lack of patrolling in the school. With the negative, however, comes the positive. Extra-curricular and Co-curricular activities are phenomenal. The school band wins nearly every one of its competitions and the football team is currently doing very well. The theater group is one of the best in the state, and I've heard good things about the show-choir and various other singing groups. In conclusion, the administration is nearly the worst in existence, but the students are capable of doing spectacular things upon putting effort into their task."
