"If you're looking for a big resort type campground, this one probably isn't for you, but it's exactly why we enjoyed it. It's only about 60 sites and it's far enough from the highway that it is very quiet. Enjoyed the fact that there weren't golf carts running around at all hours kicking up dust and making noise like many of the bigger campgrounds these days. Pleasant young lady helped us when we checked in and answered any questions we had. Site was packed gravel and almost perfectly level. We had Buddy sites 8 and 10 and there was plenty of room between the sites so we didn't feel like we were right on top of each other. Campground was very clean and there seemed to be maintenance workers around working on keeping it up all day. Main roads coming in are a little tight and twisty, but had no problems. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and we will definitely be back."

"We just enjoyed a 4 night stay at this lovely little campground in the beautiful countryside outside of Charlottesville. Great spot to camp with easy access to UVA (we were visiting our daughter), plus wineries, breweries, distilleries, Monticello (definitely check this out!) plus downtown Charlottesville is less than 20 minutes away for restaurants, nightlife etc. As for the campground itself - it's small which makes it fairly quiet and relaxing. Campsites are varied - we liked our spot #21 - there are quite a few large pull through spots if you have a larger rig. The bathhouse is one of the nicest I've ever seen in a campground, camp store has lots of things in stock if you forget anything. There's a nice nature trail to walk your dog or just stretch your legs (but if you have mobility issues don't try it since there are a lot of roots and some steep hills!) You feel like you're miles away from civilization (but you're not!) - we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Follow the directions they give to avoid the twisty narrow road to get here - there is a better road to take. Oh and they even have a wonderful local dog sitter who will come and walk your dog if you are out for the day - definitely ask for her, her name is Susan. We will definitely be back!"

"This was the first KOA we've stayed in. We were going to Monticello so it was close enough to ride our bikes. The staff here is great. She works hard to put people in spots for the time requested and in sites that fit their rig. The sites are a good size, almost level and they're positioned so that you have privacy. The maintenance staff does a great job of clearing the trees for big boys coming in. Nothing ticks me off more than having tree branches scrape along the side and roof of my motorhome. The showers and restrooms look like they've recently been renovated. For those of you that use the shower facilities, you'll love these. You get your own room with a shower, toilet and sink. I walked by the pool early morning. I wasn't sure if it was open. What was highly strange was the barbed wire that ran around the top. I really don't know the purpose of that because it's on top of a 6 foot fence. They have wifi for those of you that need it. I logged on one night for the sake of this review. It was good enough to stream and get a crisp clear picture. They have a volleyball ball net, horseshoe pit, tether ball and a big bouncy pad for kids. They lose a star due to the fact that the recreational equipment listed above is really dated. It doesn't take much money to buy new stuff. It is somewhat high in price. But the staff was mentioning that the wifi and electric in that area is expensive. If you're looking for a site in this area, this is a good one."

"We stayed at this KOA July 1st - July 5th and I must say that this was one of the nicest KOA's we have stayed at. The location was great, the spots were huge, even the smaller spots were large. The only downfall was that the pool was a bit far from the campsites, and was a bit run down. Also, the walking trail to the fishing spot could use some TLC; it was very hard to walk through grassy brush so if that is a trail I was not impressed with that. Great restrooms and shower and very clean. I would recomment this KOA to anyone seeking a spot for camping."

"Stayed 2 nights in a small cabin on a motorcycle trip. Convenient to stores, Monticello, wineries and activities. Campground was quiet and relaxing. Storm came through and knocked power out to the cabin overnight but no biggie. Staff was friendly and appeared attentive to camper needs. Would stay again if I was riding through the area for photographing."
