"Just came back from a 30 day underway, needed some ink said you know what let’s take the boys and hit this shop up. Walk ins welcomed, everyone got taken care of right away but me but the lady was nice so I looked past it. Guy charged me 200 for a 150 dollar or less tattoo, price is whatever but as a man covered in tattoos that are actually worth it. You’d know I got ripped off. That’s not even the worst part. Got in the chair everything was fine at first until he did the wings. I have my neck done and I can tell you now this hurt more on my inner wrist than my neck dude dug me so deep and the line work is so terrible. Juggs messed me up. Kinda sad because I was excited to go there. Needless to say I have a small hole that needs to heal that will probably scar and a few other spots that are going to scar. Line work is jacked up and the black coloring is just cheap black. Never again independence tattoo. Never again. SAILORS BEWARE"

"What started as a impulsive decision to skip class and drive to the closest tattoo shop ended in my absolute favorite tattoo i have thanks to Rodney. I made another appointment with him recently and he managed to turn a trainreck of a tattoo done by another artist into something i can’t wait to show off in the summer. The people at the front desk are always kind. Highly recommend this shop!"

"Absolutely love my new tattoo!! ❤ I was a walk-in on Tuesday and they were able to take me. Only waited about 20 mins while my artist Rodney drew up what I wanted and help with the color and placement on my arm. Definitely recommend if you're looking to get your next ink!"

"I went to another place before here and was told my idea simply could not work on my forearm. I then asked for something considerably smaller and was told to make an appointment, not super unreasonable but I wanted the tattoo I wanted and I wanted it that day. So I found The Independence and called ahead and was told to come in. I described the concept of what I wanted and was told it'd be no problem, 20 minutes later they showed me the design. 40 minutes later I was getting what I wanted, where I wanted, how I wanted. The guy who did mine (I can't remember his name sadly but he had a beard and head tats) was professional, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. I paid 500 for a pretty big sized piece that included text which I felt was fair. I highly recommend this place and will be back to work on my sleeve."
