"It was my daughters first appointment and the appt is at 10:15am and she didn’t get called back until 11:30am and we just sat in the chair no one came and acknowledged us until 12noon. I would not recommend this place and for a first experience I was sooo disappointed. The employees showed no acknowledgement or sympathy and no communication from the long wait."

"I waited 2 weeks to be called about an appointment when I wasn’t called I called myself and I was at that time assisted with an appointment for today 1/2/24 at 8am and although it was another 2 weeks I would have to wait and deal with my wisdom tooth pain I agreed to it….. they have no grace period so I arrived there with other people only to see someone putting a note on the door expressing they are closed and she told me to call her as she put her phone back on….. once speaking to her she try to give me an appointment for 1/26/24 for something I been waiting for since the first week of December…..I will be changing my children and just finding a more reliable place that will at least call you or look at the need and reschedule your appointment when they are at fault…. Completely disappointed in them and their customer service…. Is a new Year yall have to do better"

"If your child needs braces: DONT TAKE THEM TO SPENCER DENTAL. Most unscrupulous location ever. DEANNA, the white lady who works at admissions for orthodontics was an absolute horrible person. Deplorable Customer Service. No compassion. No understanding, . It was a wretched experience that had me crying in the car; pacing in front of the building, angrily. She was rude and only concerned about eating her Bojangles instead of helping me(who eats in front of patients?). I arrived at 8:53. Appointment was at 9:30am. My mother died two months ago(had legal custody of my niece) and I volunteered to take her last ortho appt. She told me that we couldn’t be serviced because I wasn’t on the ToA list. I(My Own Self), had to make the suggestion to send the document to my sister via email. She told us to try figure this out, or they would cancel appointment. Another associate(sweet black lady at the appointment center for dental), said we could do it, it would be up to the discretion of the Ortho team, and DEANNA insisted my sister had to fill out the form. Because DEANNA was so concerned about eating her Bo’Rounds, she neglected to tell my sister info, giving basic directions, and had my niece pulled from the orthodontia chair at the start of her procedure because I was not added to the paper. Like every solution, that, lets be honest, I came up with, she was rude at handling. Then wanted to rush my sister, who was at work, because she couldn’t email, print, sign, scan, and then email it back to DEANNA fast enough. Mind you, it was only 9:20 am when she sent it to my sister. It was 9:40 am when she began huffing and puffing, stating the appointment was already 10 mins over scheduled, I said, “can I get a little grace, my sister is at work and not real computer savvy, and DE ANNA said, “and we’ll have to reschedule, because I’ve given you enough grace, it’s 9:40am.” I could have called her everything but a child God. After losing my mom, and all stuff that’s comes with that, you would think she(DEANNA) would be more understanding, and not focused on keeping Bojangles in business. Proper customer service goes a long way. Take your children elsewhere!"

"Spencer Dental (Ortho) has the worst clerical (support staff)!! After arriving to the Portsmouth, VA location to check in for my daughter’s appointment, we were told that it had been canceled due to the fact I did not verify her appointment. How can you verify an appointment when no one EVER answers the phone!! Nor do they respond to voicemails. My daughter has had her braces since 2019 because they are INCAPABLE of keeping an orthodontist. We have had many cancelled or rescheduled appointments/treatments because they do not have a doctor available. So my daughter’s care has been postponed because of their negligence. The fact that they canceled her appointment because I could not contact their office is unacceptable! Do not waste your time with this location. Find your family a facility that knows how to operate professionally."

"This place is so horrible. Can't ever reach them. Sometimes I call daily to try and reach them, sometimes I call back to back and still can't ever reach them. My son's had his braces for about three years now and his teeth r still spaced out. I currently called them everyday, from oct 1 up until today Oct 10th. I called because I couldn't remember my son's appointment time, which I found out was Oct 5th. They did not answer of course and I called today for them to tell me that they are booked past January. Which means my son has to wait again another 4 months or so to get his braces tightened up. It's really not fair. But he is in the process of being transferred at this very moment because it's overwhelming. He has broken brackets and have a hard time eating with them on. And no ur not sorry for anything so please don't send that stupid number that u send to everyone else. Not going to call. Y'all r a very sorry company."
