The exhibit, curated by Vietnamese American scholar Vu Pham at the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program, opened at the Smithsonian S. Dillon Ripley Center in Washington, D.C. in 2007. It was the first Vietnamese American historical exhibit at the Smithsonian and garnered national attention, including coverage by CNN.

"I am so glad I tried the Canh Chua Chay! This tangy vegetarian soup was amazing. It was sweet and flavorful with the tamarind broth. The okra and tomatoes were perfectly cooked. I added rice noodles. They have a full vegetarian menu. My husband got stir fired lemongrass tofu and chili with vermicelli which also so flavorful and fresh."
"This place was recommended by one of my wife's associates. We came for some lunch. It was not crowded a few people were in there. I ordered the A2 spring rolls with fish sauce, the C6 soft egg noodles, stir-fry mixed vegetables, with beef. The spring rolls and the fish sauce's flavor were really good. The soft egg noodles stir-fry mixed vegetables with beef was so good. The beef was very good and so tender. My only complaint was that I like my vegetables softer. The service was great. The Chef came to our table to check on us, and she was really nice and very hospitable. The men's bathroom was clean and well stocked."
