"UPDATE: I spoke with the owner and he is just as combative and unwilling to accept that his business has flaws as he appears to be in response to a host of other negative reviews here. I love small businesses, but this review occurred after I had been graceful after multiple bad experiences. The owner, Scott, literally googled me (you can see this as he references UVA in his response to my review, when my review never mentioned UVA). He admitted that he googled me via texts. I posted one of these texts in the image section. His correspondence is terse and indigent. Easily the worst Plato’s I have ever bought or sold from. Beware: the return policy is abysmal - I tried to return items with tags still on them 5 days after my purchase with the receipt only to learn they only offer store credit for returns (no plato’s I’ve been to-about 8 others- has this policy). Also, until recently (I’d say from July to October) the business was rarely buying clothes- this was shocking given the sparse (compared to other Plato’s) selection in store. I’ve tried to be kind and give this establishment the benefit of the doubt as rude workers have told me they are understaffed and I’ve met that with grace and kindness, but this return interaction really severed my willingness to buy or sell again. Go to Uptown Cheapskate- better environment, clear system, solid return policy."

"After my old review, Scott, the manager, responded and said he would help me out the next day. After bringing back my clothes, a lot more of them were accepted! I really appreciated it, this place has great service. All issues were resolved. Old review: Reviewing off of my experience trying to sell clothes. I had six pairs of jeans, (two of which were Levi’s) five tshirts, a Hollister polo, two pairs of dress shoes, two belts, (one genuine leather) and two pairs of swimming shorts. (One under armor) They only accepted one item, and gave me $3.50. I know that a lot of the clothes were a little wrinkled, but they were all in fair condition or better, most of them good condition. The employees were nice and helpful in explaining things, but they went through my basket in under five minutes. So I’m not sure if this location has new high standard for accepting clothes, mine were poorer quality than I thought, or if it was the employees for this shift. Pretty disappointed, so I’ll have to try again sometime."

"I do not write many reviews. I was overcome with this experience, though. The vibes in here are rancid. The staff is mean. I usually always side with staff (-as a retail worker I know how tough it can be); but dear god. Woefully mismanaged. They take SheIn (and up charge it) but not quality brand name items … been to other Plato’s locations and always had a good experience, this is an exception. Hope they change staff"
