"Wouldn’t recommend Sara Struckmann under any circumstances to anyone that truly wants to work with a therapist that truly cares about their clients and their wellbeing. I was seeing her for almost 2 years and things were going well until I started noticing sessions were being cancelled hours before the scheduled time, with little to no real reason, weeks in a row. I was told she would get back to me to schedule another appointment within a certain timeframe, never happened. Then I come to find out she isn’t seeing anyone for WEEKS for personal reasons, leaving me without any support at a time when I was near crisis and no communication about it until I tried to get information. Tried to have a conversation about my concerns but was totally gaslighted and told she was “sorry I felt that way”, and claimed to have never received communication from me that I had proof had been attempted for a higher level of care that she totally ignored. Completely unwilling to take any accountability or have a simple conversation about client concerns about her inconsistency, and then makes you feel like it’s YOUR fault. I made another attempt to try and talk about this over the phone via an appointment and the scheduler just told me my “treatment plan” was to select a higher level of care, that my care was now totally transferred to another practice (before I had even started), and that they were “unable to provide me” with a letter I had requested from this therapist, for medical leave at work. Apparently it’s become commonplace to just disown clients when they’ve become too much and leave them to their own devices? Im still dumbfounded by the treatment I’ve received here, as are my treatment team from the current program im in, and the fact that people who’s job it is to help us can actually be the one’s to carelessly cause more trauma. Really drives in what I was constantly being told about how much I “matter” and have people on my team. Im still trying to recover from the horrible experience and treatment I’ve received here and don’t wish the same on anyone else. Other therapists may be okay, but just be warned that if you ever have an issue, your concerns will be totally brushed over and you might just be cut off. You matter and deserve the best possible help you can find/receive, so keep fighting until you find that! But that probably won’t be here."
