"My husband was diagnosed by 2 (two) medical doctors, whom of which studied psychology greatly (I worded it this way on purpose), as having depression. However, because my husband is a shy person and has difficulty (as many people do) with describing why certain feelings were reoccurring cauing his depression, a therapist from this office told him he didn't have depression. Her reasoning was because "he didn't talk past what happened during the week". She didn't offer guidance, nor words to make him think. She decided that she knew better than what doctors from 2 different states had diagnosed him with and declared them wrong. Because this, so called therapist deemed herself better than doctors, my husband's depression ended up worse for the past six months. He felt less than and wished to die. Many people do not know, or understand, why they have depression, nor do they understand what those triggers might even be. But when someone is asking for help and you turn them away callously, is incredibly cruel. I hope that she is removed before causing more harm to more vulnerable people."

"The worst experience as a first time therapy client. When I first reached out to this office and gave them my insurance information, they reassured me that they checked with my insurance company to verify how much my out-of-pocket cost would be. They proceeded to reassure me that I would have zero out-of-pocket cost for the rest of 2022 because I had already met my deductible. This is the only reason why I agreed to go every week for the rest of the year. Otherwise, I would never afford going every week. Then, out of nowhere, they tell me I owe $140 because they made a mistake, and my insurance company blames them, and they blamed my insurance company. They involved me in the back and forth, I unprofessional and incompetent. Had they told me and actually done their due diligence a.k.a. their job, I would have never gone once a week because I could have never afforded that. I have every text message in writing from the very first text I reached out to them with information, to the rest of the correspondence over the months. They put a bad taste in my mouth about therapy overall. You would think because their payroll person made a mistake, that they would own up to it. As if Therapy isn’t expensive enough, and a country that can care less about mental health, I have in writing when they verified my information in the beginning, and told me I would have zero out-of-pocket cost and admitting that it was their payroll’s fault. Never attending therapy again."

"I have seen Fred on and off for the last 20 years. I started with him at 18 years old in college. I had been seeing a different therapist prior to him. I had also seen other people in between but not for long. I did not have high hopes for myself in therapy. My biggest issue was dealing with the loss of my father 7 years earlier (coincidentally today marks 26 years without him). I was getting no help. Fred was able to help with that and many other things as that was not my only issue. I took a break from college after 3 semesters and parted ways from Fred. At age 25, I found him through google and had 2 visits. I was not in a good place in my life and while he tried to help me keep regular appointments, I was not able to do so. At age 37 (now), I googled him again. Three months ago I was in a really bad place in my own head that I had to reach out to many resources. Fred has absolutely given me the tools to get back on the right path. I feel he genuinely cares about his work and helping people. I have ALWAYS felt that way. He makes it a mission to keep the therapy ongoing. We always talk about our next steps and he even gives homework. He is so easy to talk to and knows how to get through to me when I have walls up. He has been the ONLY person who can kool-aid man through those walls. As therapy is an ongoing process and it takes work from not only the therapist but the patient, I know with medication treatment and his counseling that I will prevail. I am over an hour away from him and he offered to refer me to someone closer. I said it’s either you or I don’t do therapy. He is so flexible and reminds me I can say no if something does not work for me. Televisits are an option so we make it work. I will forever be grateful for his compassion and work. I have always been very vocal about how good he is at what he does for a living. He changes lives. I really do feel he is one of the reasons I am still here today. Lastly, I have been wanting to publicly acknowledge him. If you need help, call Fred Chamberlain. One step at a time. If I could give him infinity stars I would. 5 will do but it’s not nearly enough!"

"I originally had high hopes for this practice. The owner got back to me promptly, they accepted my insurance, and it was a close commute. However, I have decided to take my therapy journey elsewhere as the therapist I saw had never gotten back to me in reference to the plan we generated for my second session, nor did she get back to me after 3 of my attempts to try and schedule that second session. I believe my well-being, time, and effort will be better handled somewhere else. Thank goodness I am not a more at risk patient. I’ve seen these situations go south quickly as I am a prior mental health worker myself. I informed the owner about my experience and ultimate decision and no apology or well wishes were given. Just a very quick dismissal. His final words to me were only so he could try one last little time to get my business, not because he cared about my health. Sad experience here."
