"I took my son here in the past and without much consultation they would assign a diagnosis and throw a pill at him. First it was ADHD, then it was bipolar disorder (mind you, he was 8) then when the meds didn’t help they said he was autistic. They did NOT say this initially, only after their previous meds failed. I ended up taking him to Pittsburgh where he was found to simply have anxiety. I then scheduled myself at the same facility without realizing it was the same place. Instead of cancelling I decided to give it a try. With only 3 sessions, the nurse practitioner was set on trying to diagnose me as bipolar. I have been in treatment for over two decades and bipolar was ruled out years ago. She did not want to see anything from my therapist and would not listen to me when I shared my past findings. She had told me she felt I was bipolar our very first session because I rambled. I have no manic symptoms other than the rambling and I know there is a full list of criteria that has to be met for the diagnosis, but she cherry picked information she got from ME and fixated on the small details to back up her decision. This place is filled with stereotypical “quacks”. They don’t listen to the client and only see you for 15 minutes at a time yet think that’s enough for a diagnosis. Save your time and money and go to someone that knows what they’re doing. I am returning to where I went previously and regret not doing so to begin with."
