"I was a patient with this practice since 2011. Not only have I paid out of pocket thousands for my initial testing, I have NEVER missed a payment. I was billed an odd amount for in-house labs at my last visit. I found it strange and had messaged billing to let them know to resubmit my claim because this never happens. I would also be checking with my insurance. I was given a letter of discharge from the practice after paying the bill in question. Who does that?! I’ve been a faithful patient for 12 years and never missed anything! Ultimately, they did me a favor because unfortunately, after switching to the Frederick office, Dr. Maher hasn’t helped me with my autoimmune disease(Sjogren’s). All she would do is order a ton of bloodwork and offer ZERO help. She told me to go to John’s Hopkins who cannot see me for 8 months and told me to “re-apply.” I was blindsided at the lack of empathy and concern for patients in this office. I will be sure to warn others as our time is valuable and our medical care is critical. Please research before considering this office."

"In google searches this practice has the most well rated doctors. In reality the policies of this practice are not ethical and do not support patient needs. As a patient I should be able to choose my own doctor, and if I do not feel, for my own health care needs, that one of the doctors is a fit for me, I should be able to switch. These conditions are difficult enough without having to fight with the front office staff about being able to see a doctor who makes you feel comfortable, seen, heard and valued. I am in chronic pain and their policies do not allow me to switch doctors without a 3 YEAR WAIT, of having not been a patient of that practice.That's right. The doctor I want to see is accepting new patients, but if you want to switch you have to not be a patient for 3 years in that practice and then you can come back and see her. If I was doctor hopping this would be one thing. If I, as a female, need to request a switch to a female doctor this should be accommodated with NO QUESTIONS ASKED and you would think that a medical profession would understand this and all of the reasons that this may be requested by a female patient. No female should be put in a position to have explain themselves beyond that. I am now in a position where not only am I in chronic excruciating pain, I have to continue to search for a doctor who will actually help me."

"I love my doctor, Dr. Louie! He is very open to feedback, he’s a great educator on medication and treatment. He is very compassionate towards his patient’s care. I wouldn’t trade him for anyone else because I trust his words and insight into my health."

"I was a patient of Dr. Louie. He was demeaning to me and also didn't listen to my concerns about medication which interfered my heart condition. He frequently would look to my husband to confirm my answers about me (which irritated my husband as much as it did me). After seeing him several times over 9 months, I was done. I tried to schedule an appt with another doctor in his office because I'm having an extreme flare and he "denied" my transfer to another doctor. So now I have to switch offices entirely and instead of seeing a rheumatologist next week, I need to wait over 7 months. I do believe he has good intentions, but he's lacking some self awareness in how he comes off and denying my transfer so I could see a doctor in the office that I could form a better patient/doctor relationship with is just plain bad medicine. To make matters worse, their office has totally botched my payments. My FSA has paid them TRIPLE the amount they are owed and they have never once cashed the checks or applied it to my account. Instead they keep wanting a credit card payment. I have copies of the checks, the don't know what happened to them. Just a bad experience all the way around."
