"The worst place you can live. They need to fire the ladies in the leasing office asap. Left the apartment after 3 years and they cut a massive chunk off my security deposit for “damages” and “cleaning” even though o cleaned every single corner before leaving.. Stay away"

"UPDATE: Approaching 2 years of living at Colony Oaks - overall it's been a good experience. I would recommend living here as long as you manage your expectations. I've took it upon myself to do some very basic maintenance in the apartment because it seems that the property management limits what the maintenance guys can do to help. To be clear, the maintenance crew is very kind, helpful, and handy - love them! - they just don't seem to have the permissions to do more than slap a temporary fix onto whatever the problem is. The aforementioned emergency shut off valve in the bathroom finally gave way after 6 months and began to flood the bathroom. Luckily I was home that day and was able to shove a bucket under the leak before it flooded my place and the downstairs neighbors. Maintenance was able to fix this time around. I've chosen to put in a window unit AC because the black mold in the wall units was never addressed and they refused to replace the wall unit since 'it cools just fine'. I had an appliance professional come by to clean out the washer from mold and it has held up. No mold flakes have tainted my just-washed clothing since I took care of it myself. It seems that the 'messy' neighbors have moved out of my building, so there's no longer trash all over the building courtyard. Regardless, the maintenance crew does put in effort to clean the outdoor common spaces often. The rest of the original review still stands accurate. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Such mixed feelings about this place after living here for 8 months... Pros: - The apartment is extremely spacious - Generally convenient location - close to shopping, restaurants, Turnpike (driving distance - nothing where you can comfortably walk due to very busy streets) - Maintenance team is kind and receptive, though it may take a long while for them to get to your request. Cons: -Shoddy 'renovations'. Our dryer vent emptied into the wall space between the laundry area and bathroom. Dryer lint would fly out from the bathroom vanity. 'New' kitchen cabinets have had their paint chip off from light use. Water emergency shut off valve was broken upon move in (leaking) and maintenance’s version of fixing it was to install a new handle; Still broken. Both AC units full of mold. Clothes washer full of mold. - The neighbors. Seriously. When other reviewers say that kids will be running around outside screaming at 11pm, they're not kidding. (Edit: I want to be clear, I'm not some crotchety child-hating person. I know and understand kids will be loud when they play and thats ok!) Loose trash is common in the courtyards and stairwells. Maintenance will go through the areas and pick up 1-2 times a week. - Apparently, they find it acceptable to break NJ renter's law and enter apartments to perform routine maintenance (dryer vent cleaning) without 24-hour notice. They sent out emails at 10am same day and maintenance started at 9am...."

"Honestly didn’t have a thing to complain about except maybe the price being on the higher side for no reason. Until tonight. I stopped home with my mom and her dog in the car to pick up my bf. We were all IN THE CAR, Waiting for him to come outside to go get icecream around 9pm. The women who works in the office was walking past with her dogs, which made my moms dog in the car bark, through the window. She then proceeds to start taking pictures and videos of us in MY car. And standing in front of my car. Very weird experience. After reading these other reviews though i’m not fully surprised."

"Honestly if i could give negative stars i would. Moved here after i thought i had a bad renting experience with management at a different place. When you go to visit and sign the lease the women in office are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Until you start living there. Me and my husband are a younger couple and the older women in management think they can walk all over you. They claimed to have only 1 apartment that fit in not out moving time schedule and that it was an extra 200$ a month more than normal because it is “newly renovated”. They don’t allow you to see or go to your actual apartment you’ll be moving into until you sign and pick up your keys the day before. Our hardwood floor was half waxed, white paint all over floor and countertops. If you do have a pet Be careful, Property is FILLED with ticks. I find at least 1 a day. Wood has bees in it under balconies. Very clear the women in office make exceptions and overlook MANY things for only certain tenants. Not allowed to have grills on balconies which is stated in lease. Neighbor above me clearly has one very visible. The pool isn’t open until end of june, and the gym is very small to be charged 250$ amenity fee. BEFORE YOU LOOK TO RENT HERE MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR RENTERS RIGHTS. They have no problem violating them."

"horrible… Moved in with our rent being higher rent because the apartment is “newly renovated.” New cabinets don’t make a space 200$ extra a month. Whole in the floor clearly covered with laminate flooring. Management women are godawful to deal with. ESPECIALLY if you are a younger renter. Constantly being spoken down to, called Joanne specifically asking a question and was laughed at and hung up on. Seen her taking pictures of peoples apartments. No privacy. Noticed her standing outside our balcony a few times with her dogs just looking inside staring. Management is weird, rude and disrespectful. Never again"
