"Needed to replace a deteriorating wire and metal post fence on a 3+acre wooded, hilly, irregularly sloping and partially bamboo covered property. One of my adventurous Golden Retrievers had figured out how to climb and tunnel her way out by pushing the wire. Most recently she was teaching her companion her tricks. The Fence Authority came to the property and gave me an estimate within a week of my call and scheduled me in quickly, working with my schedule. We decided on 4 foot high durable aluminum fencing with vertical straight pickets and flat surfaced top and bottom rails to be set tight against the existing wire fence. They offered to remove the existing wire fence but I decided better to keep it. It is acting as a "trellis" for the plant growth from the surrounding woods and would help prevent a smaller dog from slipping through the pickets. While this big job was more expensive than I was hoping, the choice between that and saving my dogs was really a no-brainer. The increase in property value would also be a plus. The result is beautiful. The dogs cannot get purchase to climb over. The bottom horizontal rail deters their digging out, but little forest creatures have already made their small channels under the "double" fence. The adult deer could still readily leap it, but with young fawns in tow, my hostas are actually growing this spring. The Fence Authority adjusted the height of my existing driveway gate to get better clearance over winter heaving, and installed a second gate at the far end of the property. I now have access to the unfenced areas without trekking a long way through heavy underbrush. Because tree fall damage to my fencing is fairly common, they left me 10 extra fence panels and posts with installation materials for repairs. They also came back after I had signed off on job completion to change a small section where their fence joined my existing gate to meet my satisfaction. Their crew was amicable, kept the area clean, and even left me a nicer walking trail on the interior fence perimeter than I had previously cleared. A very positive experience with a beautiful and functional result."
