"One of the hidden gems of Binghamton! They have been teaching opera singers and producing operas for decades, but recently they have changed their methods and are much better for it. They do a few full scale opera's each season at the Forum in downtown Binghamton, a few smaller and lesser known opera's at their renovated theatre space on Clinton Street, produce an "Opera-Go-Round" children's opera that is shown at their facility and travels around to schools and groups through the year, as well as hosting a wide range of events and recitals throughout the year. Their casts are a mix of professional opera singers, post-graduates in residence, and graduates with local talents filling in the background. Their facility includes a full scene shop, an amazing props department, and complete costume facilities where they produce full-scale and detailed worlds that they rent to other companies around the country. I can recommend their productions and events as accessible to the curious and uninitiated as well as to the afficianado. I also recommend their set and costume rentals highly - the new management is committed to the quality of such rentals and have been doing very well making good on that commitment. Finally, I recommend their theatre facility for small, intimate theatre productions and musical performances."
