"I had a great therapist at MCA. However, in 2022 MCA outsourced their billing to a company called Headway. At first, everything went smoothly, but then I changed jobs in November and Headway stopped filing claims with my insurance company and started billing my FSA for the full amount of each session. To make matters worse, Headway sent incorrect information to my FSA so I had to repay my FSA for charges Headway made. This went on for months. Every time I complained to MCA, they told me it was not their problem. Finally, in March of 2023 I left MCA and found a new therapist. Since then, Headway finally submitted the claims to my insurance company, and it now appears that I may have been overbilled several hundred dollars. I've contacted Headway and MCA and they both refused to provide me with a statement of my account. So, I filed a complaint with the Maryland Attorney General. The worst part about my experience with MCA was not the hours I spent with my insurance company and FSA trying to clean up Headway's mess, or the rude and condescending treatment by MCA's office staff. The worst part is that I lost a really fantastic therapist."
