"Sadly we had to take the entire family elsewhere primarily because of their billing issues. The dentists were good (though the pediatric one could have had a bit more bedside manner with my ADHD child) and we liked the hygienists. But constant issues with billing from almost day one. I am a busy person and don't have time to review everything with a fine tooth comb but I found myself having to every time. Took forever to fix issues on the bill and I was frank, telling them I would not be paying interest while they sorted out the issues. Random extra charges above and beyond the insurance contracted rate on a regular basis. When I'd address them they'd suddenly be fixed with no explanation. What finally did it for us though was an issue with pre-authorization with our insurance for a procedure for my daughter. I stood in front of them and told them 3 times they needed pre-authorization with our insurance for a procedure. They assured me they'd handle it. My husband took her to that appointment and he has a TBI so forgot to ask about whether they got pre authorization. Nope, they charged us for the service instead. I was livid but we scheduled phase 2 of the procedure with them. They apologized and assured us they'd get pre-authorization next time. Prior to the appointment I called and they said they had been told by our insurance the service wasn't covered. Incorrect, we've had it covered before. I called the insurance and they said it is covered and gave the information as well as the # the dentist needed to call for the pre-authorization. I called the dentist and gave that information and they said they'd handle it. The appointment rolls around and my husband walks in and asks if they got the pre-authorization. Nope, hadn't even submitted it so he walked out and said call us to reschedule when you have the pre-authorization. Several more weeks go by and we call to find out if they'd gotten the pre-authorization yet. Nope, they said again it's not covered and they won't resubmit. I went through the roof and told them I'd verified with the insurance and gave them the information the insurance said to pass on yet they did nothing with it. We were done at that point so I told them to cancel all appointments for me, my husband, and my daughter as we'd be going elsewhere. I wrote this mostly so the doctors know what's going on with their staff and how they are losing patients because of it. I owned a business previously myself and know your employees can make or break you."
