About the Business

Saltworks Theatre Company

Saltworks Theatre Company is a non-profit, professional arts organization located at 939 California Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our mission is to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children, youth, and families through the creation and performance of contemporary dramatic works.

Recently, WPXI-TV Pittsburgh featured our production "When Panic Attacks" as part of their "Breaking the Stigma" series. We also premiered our original adaptation of Jules Verne's "Around the World in 80 Days" in October 2023, with upcoming performances scheduled for April 2024.

Our Spring Studio class, "Share a Scene!", focuses on improv skills and scene work for young actors. We also offer school assemblies that address important issues such as anxiety, body image, and social media.

Unfortunately, our tour van is in need of extensive repairs after 18 years of use. We rely on this van to bring our actors and equipment to schools in Pittsburgh and beyond. We have started a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of repairs and continue bringing the power of live theater to students.

Feedback from schools and audiences has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the relevance and impact of our performances. We strive to provide engaging and meaningful experiences for students of all ages.

Join us in supporting the arts and education by attending one of our upcoming performances or contributing to our GoFundMe campaign. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of young people through the magic of theater.
