"Do not get your car inspected here. Full stop. And if they are this dishonest and ignorant with a simple inspection I would think they are similarly so with the rest of their business. I brought an out of state car purchase here for vehicle inspection. It’s a car with a v8, which can be louder than other engines. However, it is a ‘22 model year with less than 10k miles on it in perfect working order. Upon picking my car up I’m told that my vehicle failed “because it’s too loud. It’s like straight pipe” Me: “But sir, it’s not straight pipe. Nothing. About the exhaust has been modified out of state regulation.” All of the emission controls are there. It’s just a loud car oem from the factory. (It’s a jeep wrangler 392, feel free to YouTube it for how loud it is.) Him: “it’s too loud. I recommend you get different muffler” Unbelievable. So I’m told I have to call state police if I don’t want to change the muffler (and he also failed me because he claimed there was oil on my shock which he wiped off but didn’t show me or document…sure…) So I call state police and I’m told that vehicle inspections have no criteria for the volume of the engine or exhaust. It is simply not in the purview. To be clear, when you get your car inspected, it DOES NOT MATTER HOW LOUD THE INSPECTOR THINKS IT IS. I make an appointment for a state trooper to meet me at the facility and within 10 minutes he told the facility to pass me. Complete waste of everyone’s time. This shop should not be allowed to do inspections and they are likely to try to squeeze you for work on your vehicle that you DO NOT NEED. Avoid this place."

"A month ago I took my car here because the check engine light was on. The guy Tony called me and said it was the alternator, the timing chain and the cooling fan and was charging me 2.000 to fix those things. I took my car somewhere else cheaper to get the alternator and cooling fan fix. I went back to get the timing chain fix now the Chinese guy Jhon was telling me now it’s the timing chain the sensor and my Engine I said I just was here in you said it was timing chain. These ppl are money hungry and the manger Jhon was so rude after I didn’t want my car fix after he had it four days . Saying he was doing the work .Women beware of this place they try to get over on women. I wish I would had read the reviews before I took my car here."

"Unfortunately on September 23rd I took my vehicle to have a oil change in a new oil sensor when I return to pick my vehicle Up 3 weeks later they told me it was ready after I paid the bill of over $1,500 got the keys to my vehicle it still did not work so they said let us keep it and we'll fix it to make a long story short I picked my vehicle up on January 1st and it still doesn't work it's worse than it was when I took it in I do not recommend 40 West Auto Repair for anything"

"If you want to find the mechanic shop, just ask what you need and compare the prices with other mechanic shops. Watch out for the hidden cost. Do the math! If they are treating you like a king or queen and giving you a good price, you can't resist leaving your vehicle there."

"I had called John the manager there to set an appointment for the following day for oil change tire rotation alignment. John greeted me at the door and immediately got my truck in and even offered me a beverage while I wait. Kept me well informed of the progress and I was very delighted to see the bill at the end of the service! Very professional and direct team to work with! Dependable and always there for you!"
