About the Business
Kids Building Planes is a non-profit organization located at 222 Hickory Lane in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Our mission is to promote aviation by offering workshops, aviation events, and fun activities for the community to enjoy. We are based at Pegasus Airpark, a private airport with a grass airstrip on a charming farm setting.
At Kids Building Planes, we engage both kids and adults in the world of aviation. Our EAA Chapter 839 is made up of aviation enthusiasts who are passionate about building, refurbishing, maintaining, and flying vintage aircraft. We welcome members who fly airplanes, gliders, helicopters, ultralights, and paramotors.
Our organization provides opportunities for hands-on learning in aircraft restoration techniques. Younger members have the chance to work alongside experienced members to restore classic aircraft, fostering a new generation of aviation enthusiasts. The pride and joy of seeing kids take flight in an aircraft they helped restore is truly priceless.
We also offer introductory flights to kids aged 8-17, as well as mentorship and support for those inspired to become pilots. Through the Ray Aviation Scholarship, we help eligible candidates attend flight school and earn their private pilot rating. Additionally, we host monthly pancake breakfasts during the summer to engage the community and share our love for aviation.
