"I utilized this office for the first time yesterday. Almost immediately after meeting with the person assigned to me I asked, "How much will this cost? I have a simple tax return." I received the answer of, "Let's see." She then pulled a 25% off coupon out of a drawer. I told the person that I appreciated the discount. I was never told the amount until the simple tax return was completed. I was also told at that time that the 25% off could not be used. The actual time to complete the return was absolutely not more than 15 minutes. There was some small chit chat between myself and the person doing the return but the entire process including printing copies for me, providing me with a folder of everything and taking payment was less than 30 minutes. The charge was $275. I inquired if the person was a tax attorney. No. I inquired if they were a CPA. No. If I had been told that the fee would be $275, I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT HAVE HAD MY SIMPLE TAX RETURN DONE THERE. H&Block advertises "transparency" but not telling a person upfront what the cost are when the person inquires is deceitful. I wish 100% that I had done the simple tax return on-line at TURBOTAX. TURBOTAX does simple tax returns for FREE!"
