Patient First Primary and Urgent Care - Feasterville

"TL;DR : This practice MISDIAGNOSED my mother with bacteria pink eye, accused her of not washing hands after changing my baby's diaper. Turns out she was having an allergic reaction, finally got proper care at Main Line Health Urgent Care. This misdiagnosis by Patient First caused her to isolate during snowstorm, and cost my family money in lost wages as my mother is the primary caregiver of my son. Review: My elderly mother went to this location on January 12 for a runny, itchy eye. She informed the doctor that she had had this condition before, due to an allergic reaction. The doctor told her it was not an allergic reaction, but bacteria conjunctivitis. My mom told the doctor that she wasn't exposed to pink eye, no one in the family has it and that she has not left the house in several days as she is the primary caretaker of my son while my husband and I work. The doctor than told her that maybe she got pink eye from not washing her hands after changing the babies diaper. That left my mom feeling dirty and ashamed. Well turns out my mother does not have a hand washing problem nor bacterial pink eye! after several days of taking the bacterial eye treatment with no relief, she noticed it was getting worse and a rash was spreading down her face and neck. She went to Mainline Urgent care where they properly diagnosed her with allergic pink eye due to an allergic reaction. Not only was the physician who misdiagnosed her incompetent, she shamed my mother and blamed her for her "infection." my mother felt dirty and shamed. she stayed away from the family and went back to her house and was alone during the snow on January 15 because she was too afraid to come around the family for fear of spreading it. Furthermore, I had to take off a week from working so this doctors incompetence has cost my family money. Lastly, I cannot ignore the power dynamic between a young white women physician telling my elderly, brown skinned mother that she got pink eye from improper hand washing. Please think about how that looks and feels to person. Please think about how minorities have had to face stigmas of being dirty. Please practice more cultural competency. We are more than happy to speak to management about this incident if you would like to follow up with me."

"My doctor sent me here because he wanted me to get a chest X-ray to make sure I haven't developed pneumonia, since today is Saturday, and he didn’t want me to wait until Monday. Everyone I encountered was very nice, and they agreed that I should have one because of my cough, but when I was put into my room, I waited for 55 minutes with no one checking on me or doing anything. I wasn’t even offered any water or anything. I finally had to step beyond the curtain and ask what was going on, because initially I was told I would be taken for a chest x-ray right away, and then the doctor would see me. Once that happened things moved very quickly and professionally, and I was done in 25 minutes more. The PA who came in was super friendly and apologized, she said she had just reported to work herself. I honestly think someone forgot about me during a shift change or something like that. I would still come back here but I would advise the staff to make sure they at least pop in and check on patients who are waiting in rooms. If I hadn’t said anything, who knows how much longer I would have waited?"

"I sat in the room for 2 hours listening to the medical staff having personal conversation no one checked on me and I left before being seen by a Dr. I will never go back or any of my family. Went AFC in Southampton and was seen within a half hour was asked if I needed a water while I was waiting and the dr was able to explain my illness and was treated great."

"Everyone was very friendly and kind. I feel like I was treated with respect and the Doctor was wonderful and relieved my worries. She prescribed me a prescription for my leg, which was just picked up from the pharmacy. As to wait time, there was none. I barely got seated in the waiting room, when my name was called to go back. We were in and out within a half hour. Great experience!"

"Everything was fine. I’m satisfied with everything. I would come again without reservation. However, the woman in the blue scrubs was giving me an attitude the whole time. I think she’s the PA of Indian descent. She was on duty around 11AM on Sunday October 8, 2023 in blue scrubs. She was giving me an attitude the whole time. Tell her to pick up a new attitude or throw in the towel! Everything was fine minus her!"
