"A Life In Balance is no cookie cutter physical therapy facility. I have now experienced their services on two separate occasions and have gained a greater appreciation after each time. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, caring and considerate. However, what I most like is the fact that they are genuine. They say what they mean and they mean what they say. They all buy into a philosophy of care that is so intuitive. Oh, and they are pretty fun to be around. I find that the personal attention is paramount to getting better as they truly teach you how to do the exercises and monitor you to ensure you are doing them correctly. They set you up with a program for home and help you build ownership of the plan so that you are compelled to follow through. Home work is key! If you do not apply yourself to the work, results will not come nor last. Once I understood the brain and body connection, the need to stimulate the underused muscles in lieu of the over used ones and most importantly the need to activate them once they are stimulated, results happened much faster. At times, it felt like voodoo but it really is very simple. We are a machine and our parts have some connection to one another. Paula is a master at finding the right connections and how to help make the necessary adjustments to make "your machine" operate as smoothly as possible. The rest of the staff help put that plan into action. They teach and nurture in order to get results. They were open to my questions and thirst for understanding. I feel as though I have walked away with a better understanding of my self and I am now equipped with the tools to work out any "flare-ups" on my own. I learned how to strengthen my core, understand and recognize when my body was not in line and how to make subtle adjustments to ensure I was working smarter. However, it is very comforting to know they are around the corner should I need them. While I am happy to be dismissed, I will truly miss my sessions."
