Located at 106 Iron Street in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the Center For Metal Arts is an educational institution deeply rooted in the traditions and history of forging. Situated at the historic Cambria Iron & Steel forge shop, the mission of CMA is to provide a high-quality educational forging program while preserving the historic Cambria Iron Company facilities.
The institution aims to reach and serve a broad audience of artists, craftspeople, and students in the U.S. and abroad. One of the key events held at the Center For Metal Arts is the Cambria Iron Conference, which takes place in the historic Blacksmith shop.

"I have taken several blacksmithing classes here. Instructors are great and the space is really interesting and historic. If you are interested in learning blacksmithing this is a good choice!"
"This place is a must! If you are a serious student, metalworker, or blacksmith you really need to make time to visit this timeless place still moving into the future today!"
"Had a terrific time at the bottle opener work shop. The instructors were great teachers, always willing and eager to help. I highly recommend signing up for one of their classes!"
"I took the ballpein hammer class, I had a lot of fun, learned a lot too. The Smith instructors were competent, patient, and had good attitudes. I look forward to taking more classes with them. The school shop is well equipped, with plenty of space, and plenty of well made tools, and good anvils that are firmly mounted and bolted to the floor."
"Took a weekend class forging damascus chef knives and loved it! Incredible teacher, Nick Anger, shared his considerable expertise, tools, materials, and good sense of humor. Pat and Dan made sure the class went smoothly, often forging tools needed for the class from raw stock. I cannot wait to see them get the historic power hammers and original blacksmith shop back up and running."
