"Here’s my story. I was laid off for about 4 months during October-January 2021, thanks to COVID 19. After returning to work, I developed some pain in my Achilles, but especially my right Achillies.. It became swollen and was very stiff getting up in the morning, after watching tv at night before bed and after long trips in the car. It lasted for a month before I went to my doctor, who told me it would go away on its own. After about six months of dealing with it, it had gotten worse. Playing on the beach with my family and running in general was impossible, going up steps was flat footed and the size and tenderness had increased. I switched doctors who put me in therapy to increase flexibility and strength that I had loss. They used a grafting tool, which was very painful from my calf muscle and working down. It did get better and more flexible as they broke down the scar tissue, but after 4 months found myself not improving and looking for another option. My doctor spoke to me about marrow and stem injections, but insurance would not cover it costing me about $2,500. Not knowing the results of this, I was at a road block. One day, listening to my favorite radio station, I heard about Trinity Rehab and their EPAT treatment used to help tendinitis. I lived in Delaware and their new location in Newtown Square PA was closest to me, about a hour away. The Trinity professional, Megan, met with me to talk about the treatment, what to expect and financial options, which cost much lower than the injection option. After being in severe pain for a year, I agreed to the EPAT treatment but was skeptical. For about 15 minutes a week, felt improvement in the first 2 weeks. After 4 weeks, was thrilled to say I was 95-98 percent better and even though I still had a bump, was moving great with no tenderness. I just completed treatment 5, and have 0 pain and bump is much smaller. It’s sound hard to believe, but it’s true. I would recommend this treatment to anyone who is going through this.
