"I’ve lived at Cleveland House for a year now and I‘d recommend this building to all of my friends! The apartments: The apartments are a great size for the price. The windows are huge and I love the hardwood floors. The rooftop is great in the summer! The location: Woodley Park is such a safe, quiet neighborhood and Cleveland House is about a 7-minute walk to the metro. I love the proximity to parks (like Tregaron) and the National Cathedral gardens. Cleveland House is also 10 minutes away from my favorite bakery (Rose Ave) and so many good restaurants! The staff: The staff here treat you like family and are so accommodating. Dan, the office manager, is extremely responsive and accessible. I pop by his office all the time just to say “hi.” He always checks in about how things are going with my apartment and life. And, despite having to deal with so many people and personalities on a daily basis, he’s always so positive. He’s the best! Tye is also a Cleveland House favorite. She works at the front desk and keeps an eye out for all of her residents. You can just tell she knows how to run the place! She’s also so much fun to chat with. She’s helped me through so many difficult package returns and always asks me how my day is going. Love her!! Michelle is also a ray of sunshine and I always look forward to her shifts. I love living in a building where the staff know your name and watch out for you. It makes it very hard to ever picture leaving!"

"I’ve been living here for a year now. The next day I moved in, I had a BIG problem with roaches, then with mice (two). It took like three months to get rid of them. We, the tenants, need to wait for the schedule of Management for visits of the pest control/exterminator, in my case, I had to wait 4 days. Then, Management painted the doors and hallways and changed the carpet of the hallways. Not so noisy, but smelly. Then, like for the last 6 MONTHS, management started some works on the facade of the building. Extremely noisy (hammering, drilling) with construction materials all around. They are supposed to work from Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, but last weekend they worked on Saturday. Today, it is past 5pm and there is still some moving around. Another thing... now there is a generator outside the building adding to all the noise. Just to clarify, when I say management, I DON’T mean the front desk who are always super nice and do their best to help."

"A++++ service and a thorough orientation tour of the apartment the day I moved in. Cleveland House is a class act. I moved from NYC and I feel like I’m treated as a person again! (Not just a monthly check writer.) So happy to be here! Cleveland House is the best residence I've ever lived in. The staff is wonderful, they actually care about helping with any issues that come up, whether it be the concierge helping with packages or the service team repairing or adjusting a mechanical problem. Choosing to live here was one of the best decisions of my entire life. Seriously. Our hall closet sliding doors were somehow installed in such a way that they kept going off track and were unstable. Soon after requesting it to be fixed they were not only adjusted but completely reworked so that they now reliably open and close with not even a little sound. I have been living in Cleveland House Apartments for over three years and cannot imagine the negative comments I see being for real. I absolutely love it here! I came from a moldy, roach infested apartment in Queens, NYC, and living at Cleveland House is an absolute dream. Every issue has been promptly fixed and, since I have all new appliances and a gorgeous apartment with high ceilings, I have had no problems that have not been faced with a positive attitude and question--"Is there anything else you are having problems with?" So whatever past problems there may have been, I have had quite the opposite experience. This building is extremely well kept."

"So sadly I’m having to change what was a 5 star review to a 1 star review. We lived here years ago and came back for a year. This is what we felt with- rats, water damage, asbestos, theft, unethical landlords, and theft of our deposit. We had constant rat problems. None of the doors locked so someone stole our bike and other items out of our cars. We had water dripping down the walls and when they opened it up, we had to deal with asbestos (with a one week old baby). The landlords decided to take our deposit even though we had the place professionally cleaned, and their policies are unethical. The entire building smells like cat and dog urine during the summer and the place is filthy. I very much caution anyone considering moving here. The only good thing about this place was the front desk people and the maintenance people. They did the best they could with what they had. The attached picture show the floor when we moved in full of cat urine, the asbestos quarantine area, and some dead bugs which was common. —- Great place to live if moving to D.C. - My wife and I lived here for a year as we looked for a place to buy. It is clean, comfortable, and the people who work there are very nice. Barry was a welcomed face every day. Each day he would great us and made our stay there very welcoming. We had a patio apartment and it was well worth the extra money. Repairs were done quickly and parking was easy to find. The only negative was a former manager in the office that would send less than friendly notes to the entire building. Luckily, she no longer works there."

"My wife and I have had the pleasure of being Cleveland House residents for over two years. We are now moving out, but thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We have developed some great relationships with the concierge staff and most maintenance issues were always addressed within 48 hours. From a market perspective, I doubt you will find an apartment that is as big for as cheap as a Cleveland House one-bedroom. With utilities included, walking distance to Red Line and Dupont/Adams Morgan, and a beautiful neighborhood, this building really is a steal. Rent increases were modest while we here, especially compared to what I've heard from friends of ours living in Navy Yard. Highly recommend."
